I have tata safari dicor 2.2 and trust me it's a headache to maintain it if you are from middle class family *BUT* the moment the safari is serviced/ parts fixed it gives another level of comfort, road presence (even fortuner seems at same level above ground), the sitting position etc. The car is not good for city use but is extremely good for highway IMO.... You will love this car if constant maintenance doesn't bother you....

Tata motors know that giving 4WD is waste because it would still won't increase the sales as the price will further increase and customers will shift to other manufacturers unless the customers are car enthusiasts or love off roading. For example, i heard that AWD version of XUV700 is having less sales compare to its 2WD version. So that maybe the reason why they are not bring Safari 4WD.
