I think it's because a spoon is such an INTIMATE item. We put them in our mouths. I think because we've been making our own stuff with our own tools a damn' sight longer than they've been slammed out on mindless machines someplace in China. The oldest known spoons are a pair of mammoth ivory spoons found at an archeological site in Russia. Avdeevo. They are dated about 21000 years ago. You develop an intimacy with both the item you are making and with the tools you are using. Your sense of self worth rises, your confidence in your self-reliance rises. Your sense of BELONGING becomes more acute as opposed to the feeling of alienation from which so many people suffer nowadays. So, you watch this and you become drawn into the MAGIC. And I believe you become more intimately acquainted with the workings of the Multiverse. (And, of course, you have made Andy happy!)

I'll see what I can do! Short answer; it's a fantastic axe, and punches way above it's weight. I highly recommend it!

@@andyspoons is this product ok if you use it on a spoon dedicated for food? Personally I use organic linseed oil. But I know that some don’t like. Anyway thanks again for sharing. You do a great and nice job. All the very best.

Love your work Andy. Been using a shitty axe from the hardware store, I notice i spend way too little time removing mass with the axe which adds hours to my carving. What axe do you use? 🙏

Andy, can I ask. Some of your spoons are FLAT across the front of the bowl - like spatulas. You know, the bit that goes into the mouth first. Not oval. It seems very awkward and uncomfortable to me but I see that a lot of spoons are shaped like that. Is there a reason for this?
@andyspoons
@andyspoons 11 ай бұрын
Have you used a spoon of this shape? It is very comfortable, and makes it easier to scrape the base of a bowl, or corners of Tupperware

Very nice Andy, I learned a couple little "diddy's" that you do differently than I do and I think I'll change things up on my next spoon. See how it works!You put out a bunch of spoons...is this a hobby or do you do it for a living? Curious minds... Nice job man and you have taste in tools.
