Hello Jordy, I have been following you and I’m in awe of your talent. I’m creating a memorial garden for both my daughters, taken way too soon. I am beginning to try my hand at carving. I have three different types of wood that I’m working with but I’m not sure what to use. I’m planning to put them in my girls garden, good or not because my grand and great grandchildren love to visit and I know they’re gonna love them. My oldest daughter was murdered in 2011 by her estranged husband, my world crashed, I had to come back so I walked. Walking was good for me because I could think and talk about and too her. Then in 2019 I lost my youngest daughter to Spinal Meningitis, again I’m shattered. I’m looking for something that can help me heal and I’ve found that concentrating on creative things helps, watching you and trying woodcarving. I love the wood spirits…. I want to learn how to create them and I have ideas on new ones. Thank you for sharing your amazing art and talent, you are inspiring. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your works. Hey Jordy, I just want to mention how much you have inspired me. I'm retired, was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma, and have turned to wood carving. I can't go out in the sunshine too much, so my work shop has become my man cave. I found you on KZbin, and unbeknownst to you, and a few other talented carvers here, have been mentoring me. I live in Hawaii, so we have U.S. mail. I don't have a lot of money or a large amount of carvings I could share, so I was wondering if I could chip in by sending you a priority mail box of some of the Hawaiian grown hardwoods I like to carve on ? Coffee wood, guava, milo, citrus, Koa, and others.
