It reminds me of the stylistic artsyle in games, where items look sharp and a bit cartoony. It looks really nice, the style is unique!

🌿Please read before commenting🌿 I keep getting the same questions over and over and I am learning a lot of people do not read the description. So I will answer them here. •Music is She's the Moon by Carl Storm: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYCQopuqdrF7jNk •Clay goes through many stages of shrinkage when drying and firing in the kiln. The mug looks big so that it will be normal sized when it is finished. •Clay is called Brown Bear from Kentucky Mudworks (stoneware)(still looks like chocolate, tho) •The knife is from Mudtools and is called Petal Knife #5. •There is no finished piece at the end because it is just a simple carving video. I have plenty of finished work on my Instagram. •Yes, I am aware that it isn't a mug until it has a handle. It will get a handle after carving. •I sell my work on my website: www.kaiceramics.com Thanks for watching 🙃

@@midgetman4206 true maybe I'll pick it up again, I had steel gloves and all but depending on the angle sometimes the knife would cut through the wood like butter and other times it felt as tough to chisel as concrete and at one point it slices through my glove, it missed my skin by a few mms or so, so it felt a bit like a matter of time till it went wrong but you're so right! I think it can be 5-7 mm, with 3-5 mm deep carvings, the remaining 2 mm is firm enough:) it really depends on your taste or if you want to make it heavy or light. I prefer heavy objects, others prefer almost eggshell thin walls.

I would love to make a few batches of tools like that. I’ve always done a lot of tool and die making work on the side because I enjoy it and because it’s needed quite often. I’ve always made a lot of my own tooling, but over 10 years ago I needed to make a batch of somewhat precision tools… Instead of just making one at a time. I Wanted to re-create a set of violin scroll carving palm gouges. So I machined some massive swage blocks and shaping dies. And used hydraulic press to form them, instead of forging them like I would normally do. I’ve made all types of carving tools even some metal working tools. Having a bit of intermediate blacksmithing experience, and a basic set up… It’s incredible what you can make these days. That looks like such a fun and interesting tool to reverse engineer, then go about designing the tooling that will allow somewhat quick batches with perfect repeatability and accuracy… source the material, shape material, heat treat, design and make the handles and ferrules,… it’s just such a satisfying process. Would be super satisfying to make a few batches. I enjoy making tools more than anything in the world
