I think what really appeals to me is watching people make exactly what they want to make, or what they feel passionate about. There’s a nice energy around watching people excitedly do their own art.

Hey just a tip, before u carve out the entire background u can cut off the large chunks from the corners and use them for smaller images in a later project :)
@recoveringsoul7553 жыл бұрын
good tip, unless you want the background to print... it looks sort of sketchy and I liked it with the carrots. It shows the border

What you're doing is actually printmaking and each print is considered part of an edition and is considered its own work of art. I think its so cool how you started with rubber stamping and have now gotten into full-on printmaking. I want to try printmaking myself, but linosheets are so expensive. Seeing what you created is definitely motivating me to give it a try though.

I love stampcarving and blockprinting, so I'm here for this (mini)serie! As an artbook collector, I got so excited when I saw you with that book, she's an amazing artist and very inspirational. One tip: you can cut the sides of your stamp off and reuse it for smaller stamps, instead of carving all the negative space out. Unless you want to keep the square shape in order to align all your prints.

I love seeing you so excited Mira. When you say something is 'so stinkin cute!' I have to smile. You are super adorable Mira. Ty for the videos. I haven't done lino printing since I was in art class at school at 11 or so. I LOVED it. It is just soooo relaxing. Mira that lino that you were carving was very thick, I haven't seen any that thick before. I loved your cactuses at night carving, it was so well done. You are so clever, to think to do it that way.

Block printing/ stamp carving is so fun to watch lol - I'd definitely love to see Mira do more of it in the future. It might be cool if she also did some designs that require multiple stamps to layer different elements/ colours (i.e. if she did her bunny in a sweater she might hv one stamp for the bunny's head, one for the face, one for the scarf, one for the sweater & another for the outline).

I believe that every video you post are videos you do believe in and would not create if you did not enjoy yourself! I took a few semesters of printmaking in college and I know your doing a grand job! I wish they had water based block printing inks when I was in school! I did use some acrylic paints in substitution for some prints but the instructor called me out and said they were not good enough! Not permanent! But they still look good today! and I used very good papers and paints too! I hope you continue to create more prints and include this as a medium you use to your benefit too! I hope you do more experiments and use multiple inks in your prints!

There are these drying racks that can be put on a door, kinda like those over the door towel hangers. They can be folded up to create more space when not in use, but are very handy for drying numerous flat things. I think I got mine from Amazon. They also have free standing ones, if you have more space. I found mine easier for drying multiple projects rather then spreading them out all over the ground and tables.
