Drawing 100 Eyes on ONE Sketchbook Spread...

Hi everyone! A few of you have commented saying I didn’t credit Jess Karp for this idea. I did not know about her until today, so thank you for telling me about her! I just looked thru her channel, and she created a similar video a few months ago. As always, I believe in crediting others, as I fully support our amazing art community here on KZbin. Even though I did not get this idea from her, I want give credit where credit is due! Jess Karp’s video is definitely worth checking out if you get the chance! Her artwork is beautiful, and I’m so thankful you folks told me about her! 😍💜🌸 Also a friendly reminder - please don’t assume someone has the worst intentions when they didn’t credit someone. The internet is a big place, and it’s next to impossible to create new ideas or know who everybody is on here. This was honestly an idea I got for fun when I couldn’t sleep. The art community is a very kind and peaceful place, and most of us are friends behind the scenes and even encourage others within the community to participate in the same ideas. So if you see two artists do the same thing in the future, please be kind. This community fosters so much kindness, and regardless of idea overlap between channels, kindness is incredibly important. ✨

I have to be honest, the very first eye that you drew is the one my "eye" keeps drifting back to. It is lovely! I would love to be able to do realism! Would you be interested in doing some tutorials on how to draw portraits and water, especially in a realistic style? I would be watching those on repeat so I can learn from you and your beautiful art!

I’m in love with all of them but the one with darker skin with a pinkie eye shadow and a beautiful blue eye just made me so happy and it stuck out to me 💙

I have literally just sat down from sorting through my many sketch pads and there are about 6 that I haven't started yet; eyes have always been my favourite thing to draw and I think I am going to do a 100 day challenge kind of thing where I chose an eye to draw each day (on a separate page each though) :) Thank you for the inspiration Mira - your work is always beautiful **Edit - just got toward the end of the video and I think the end product would look awesome as merch! It was really cool to see the large variety and shapes and colors on this page when it was finished. My favorite is probably the all of the eyes with a colorful block of marker and then drawn with a darker shade of that color on top 😍😄🎨

My favorite eye is the most inspiring for me. It’s the one bellow the green blob, next to the pink blog and also next to the red blob. You’re so talented and watching you makes me want to leap out of my seat and draw. You’re such a joy, hope you’re safe and healthy 💜💜

I think my favorite eye you made is the red-violet eye that has a turquoise tear coming out of it on the left hand page. I love the simplistic semirealism it captures. You're doing amazingly Mira! Love watching you!

I loved the triangle monochromatic eyes but from the beginning the one that was my favorite is the black and white one under the really simple rainbow eyes like the simple random ones in the circles, the one under it is definitely my favorite.

My favorite eye is the one with the gorgeous, drop dead, eyeshadow on the right hand page, top left quadrant. I loved all of the eyes and admire you for doing this. I’m attempting to “art” because I am disabled and need something to do with my brain before it turns to mush!! Mira - thank you for not being afraid tell people you are a follower of God. I knew you were different from the day I found your channel, and that is why I keep coming back with my 14 year old daughter. Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do!!

I hope you had fun on this project. You worked really hard to draw all 100 of these eyes. You've made me realise I should probably do some studies of eyes to get better at drawing them. I always get compliments for the way I draw eyes. My art style is I draw BIG eyes. I put a lot of emphasis on the eyes. Well done for completing your project.

My favourite one is the black and white eye in the lower middle, to the right of the spine. I don't know why I like it so much. Maybe because it's one of the only ones that is natural, ie. without makeup or big lashes. The way it's looking at the viewer seems so soft, yet dreamy. All of them are beautiful honestly. I want to do this now 💕💕💕

I work at an art studio for peeps with developmental/intellectual disabilities; and this reminds me a lot of one of my artists! She consistently does artwork of cartoon characters (sometimes fan art, sometimes originals) and she stacks them on the page until it’s filled up. The finished pages look like stadiums full of cartoons! She had an art show locally a couple of years ago & everyone loved her art so much!

If you want a career in Art, you must create for yourself in the long term. Yes you have to create for clients and fulfill certain requirements for projects. I found ways to keep creating when so many drawing jobs disappeared and computers replaced drawing boards! I branched out and learned glass blowing for neon sign construction. When I went for a new job interview, I had to learn how to use the computer and drawing/painting programs! Being a fluid artist is a great advantage, not being locked in to one style or medium is truly a great thing. You are so amazing and I believe that you can do anything you truly desire to do! Oh, I like the eye in graphite, in profile directly below the green splotch eye, next to the red triangle on the right side. Please take care and enjoy the rest of your day.
