ALL RIGHT!!! The last question is being asked once again! I have been BLESSED by getting my parts in a timely fashion. Only time I had an issue was over 40 years ago. Had a motorcycle that was a bit different, a 1976 Suzuki RE5. It was kind of unique and ran really well. BUT! It had a problem with it's "silicone rectifier", which controlled the charging of the battery [like a voltage regulator]. I had a few LONG conversations with the mechs at Justice Suzuki and they told me that rectifier was bad from the start. Not badly designed, just not a strong enough unit for this size bike. It needed one off a 1000 or bigger. They had none in stock of either size [the bigger unit required some rewiring!].This was middle of May; I wanted to ride my new [to me!!] bike this summer! So we ordered a new one, then I figured I better get two-just in case. [Mr. Murphy!] I even paid for rush-air service from I believe Osaka Japan, supposed to be 10-12 days max. I received my parts in time for my birthday............February 12th of the following year!!!! So, 9 months with Rush-Air shipping [I think it cost about $160ish; parts were $102.48!] and the first one DID NOT WORK. Second one did the trick. Before I took her out for a romp, I found out why they were blowing out, too much heat build-up!! I made a little air diverter to cool it better, lasted the couple years I had her before passing her on. They only built this bike for 2 years, 1975 and 1976. It was kind of unique in that it had a Wankle rotary engine!! BIG engine for a motorcycle, heavy too. Like riding with a dorm fridge between your legs. Smooth runner, and you could rev her to the Moon! No valves to float!! But again, thanks for the Final Question coming back. Always enjoyed it!!!!

500K subs soon! That's fantastic. And totally - totally! - deserved for such wonderful, consistently fascinating and entertaining content. And I have learned so much since you started (a lot of it actionable!). I hope you guys do something a bit crazy for that milestone. Belated Happy New Year, by the way. I hope you and yours have a fantastic 2021 with continued success.

We had this problem with a brand new compressor on a Hilux Ute with a freezer box on back, The driver experienced a chilling [no pun intended] experience when on the Freeway the compressor locked up, every light on the dash came on as the engine and transmission temporarily [for one second] froze until the belt snapped [they are STRONG]

Some people work very hard to get their Toyota and there's not a damn thing wrong with ls swaps especially when the engine that's in the car you're putting it in is total crap

LOL LS swap is so yesterday! I love it! I agree, machines need to be used, cars need to be driven! We just took a 2000 Mercedes E320 cross country for 5K miles round trip. We started with 120K miles on the clock. We did have a coil pack go bad at the very start, replaced it and nothing but smooth driving, comfort and 25+mpg for the rest of the trip.

The advantage of still running V belts in a 90's vintage car: AC compressor failure leaves water pump/alternator belt(s) intact. And - good GRIEF the size of those hood hinge springs.

Poor airflow through the condenser will cause the compressor to pump out the oil and lockup. The other cause for lockup can be a bad thermostat. Air conditioning thermostat can fail in closed circuit. that will cause liquid to get into the compressor that is meant to pump gas. To prevent from happening again check that the thermostat shuts off the compressor at 4ºC to 7ºC. How is the heat exchanger doing?

35 years ago I learned how to change clutch bearings on A/C compressors. On old GM cars where the A-6 compressor is up top and easy to get at, I would prefer to change the bearing rather than install a new compressor since it can stay on the engine with the charge intact. Those days are gone however since most compressors are buried and you would have to discharge the system to get at them anyway.

Often overlooked, as was in my case, check the connectors in the plug. The downfall of my car was it took way too long for someone to pick up the one connector pin broke in two.

I like Mrs Wizard's test question, I'm pretty sure she knew the answer in advance , because my experience is that Most of us wizards if we're lucky are smart enough to realize They're smarter than we are (Which if we're lucky enough they say yes when we ask them to marry us)
