You would not guarantee a motor for 100K yourself so why are you beating up on Hyundai. They have the best warrenty out there. The oil is black because nobody took care of that car. Why are you blaming everyone else but where the blame should be?

09'er with 138k miles only had to replaced water pump/timing belt, now alternator and she'll (in star trek terms) jump to warp if you floor it just right. My mom is the second owner. Been pretty reliable to only have left us on the road twice in 4 years compared to the van she traded it in for (05 Grand Caravan)

The Kia Sedona doesn't add up. My family had a 2008 Sedona and being a military family it went everywhere with us, including Camp Casey South Korea. My family let it go with 313k in 2016 and it never had any issues. It was comfortable, quiet, and the engine had a rather nice note too it. My good friend Derek and his family had a 2012 Sedona and was constantly thrashed, trashed, and abused. He still has it with 292k and the only issue he had with his was a leaking valve cover gasket and a Throttle body issue, was a cheap fix and still used. Not to mention all the Taxi Sedonas I've seen here around Columbus GA area that are well into the 300-400k range still going.

Hoovie got scammed (imagine that). Couldn't happen to a more deserving fella'. As far as "the shippers sob story". I would've been there (but I'm not a multimillionaire like Tyler) when they dropped off my vehicle. I know how useless the average person is. You can't take anyone's word. @CarWizard you're the man. At least Tyler's idiocy has put you in a much higher tax bracket.

My heartburn, and experience with new LS based truck is, one little glitch will shut off the engine in heavy traffic on the freeway. Turned out to be a sensor pigtail, no problem mechanically. Bad engineering. It should give a light but let you drive to safety. I am going to buy an 80s

I have to comment on this video. Finest two vehicles I have EVER owned: 2005 Chrysler T&C Touring: 3.8 v6 was bulletproof. Sliding door still worked flawlessly after being hit and destroyed by drunk driver. Seriously NO ISSUES EVER. 2012 Chevy Express 3500 LT: it's a tank. 6.0 plenty of power, comfortable, everyone stays clear of it. Worst cars I've ever owned: 2008 Honda Odyssey EX: sliding door issues, climate control issues, power steering issues, engine seized even after keeping up on maintenance. 2008 Chevy Suburban 1500: 5.3 v8 was ruined by Chevy with afm, so I swapped motor for non afm 5.3 from express. Electrical issues galore, stay clear of these, only get 2006 and b4.

The usual fault with a 451 blower motor is that it gets a 'dead spot' because the copper commutator gets covered in carbon dust off the motor brushes and so the motor stops, but will restart if you go over a bump on the road, and then stop again. I had to clean the copper commutator twice during the 6 years I owned the car. I now have a 453 Smart car cabrio 1.0 engine with manual gearbox and it is far more reliable than the previous 451, it has a bigger cabin, power steering and softer suspension...i.imgur.com/GylJJIX.jpg

2016 jeep compass with CVT. Most expensive, and the most horrible vehicle I have ever purchased. Among other issues, transmission needed replacement at 68k. 😢 I took a HUGE loss on it and got a 09 CRV.

Agreed. We owned a 2008 and 2011 Toyota Sienna 3.5 v6. My brother-in-law has an earlier Sienna 3.3 with over 200k which he drove from CA to NC and back. Our latest is a '16 Honda Odyssey which the timing belt had to be replaced rather than a Toyota timing chain. The Honda transmission had a shudder which went away with a drain and fill. I want a Sienna hybrid but they are hard to find at MSRP.

Great trucks but they fall apart when exposed to any salt and the dissimilar metals issues where ford put aluminum to steel causes problems. They were awesome new but the 80’s were better and the 70’s better than that. At one time I had an 85 250 and a 95 150 and a 2001 350. The 85 outlasted them all and I still have it. I live in Maine so we have more days at 42 degrees than any other state and combine that with salting the vehicles disappear.

Fuel pumps rot out on the fuel inlet tube too. It’s a new thing now due to age. Happened to my 2011 200k miles. She’s at 255k miles as we speak and no new transmission ever. 5.3 Last forever so of course its original. Best truck I’ve ever owned and sounds great when you stomp on it

You guys are geniuses. I don't understand why mechanics don't earn as much as brain surgeons, both professions are equally demanding in brain-power. In fact mechanics need to know a lot more, the human brain comes in just one model, unlike motor vehicles which come in thousands of different varieties. As for "it cost me nothing", not really, the two of you spending a whole day testing the electrical system meant you lost two days' charge-out fees to customers, plus all the other non-chargeable time you spent on it. So a few thousand bucks. But you know that, obviously, you're a good businessman too. Fascinating video, most punters think finding the problem is a simple process, or that mecanics "just know", that was certainly how I thought until YT gave me a proper education on such matters.

The only scam is the shop that told her $20,000 for an apparent small leak? She should have been told it was in an accident and if the cvt was replaced, but you get what you pay for typically… you found it needs tires and brakes, cmon bud
