All European car brands are rubbish - except for Porsche's 911 model. All European car brands are losing tremendous value as a used vehicle in the US, while in China they are being bought less (with huge discounts when buying new vehicles) and less every year. If you want to believe in fairy tales about the "superiority" of Europe and the "subhumans" from China - go ahead. You have to understand that nothing is eternal, not human life, not one's eternal domination. If you really believe that the Mercedes S-Klasse has the same importance for customers as it did a couple of decades ago or that the BMW is the "ultimate driving machine" - it is not..

Don't get too hung up on a long warranty. That just means the parts are cheap enough to replace that it doesn't matter. There are also sales of goods act implications in shorter warranties which mean a lot of things are convered under your consumer rights for a decent time anyway and as more people become aware of this offering a longer warranty doesn't really cost anything.
