@dorianpalinic57034 ай бұрын
Well mate it certainly is more practical but on the other side a three door car just looks cleaner and sportier (like a coupe from the side) and has better visibility cause the b pillar is placed more in the rear and easier entrance cause the doors are longer. Never driven a VW polo,so I haven't got a scooby. Corsa's have always been reliable for me and if anything ever needed replacing, was always the more cost effective option. I learned to drive in a fiesta and it's what I always wanted but practicality had to play a role.

I have one of this engine but with stage 1, new sport distribution and K&N sport air filter. That's how i reached 130 PS with a torque of 265nm from 215nm. The difference feels amazing and the car feels very good. As for the exhaust, I have to change it and the suspensions need something more sporty and after that, I just want a free and dry road in front of me and everything will be perfect for me. The engine is very resistant for me. I didn't have problems in the last 2 years and that 20000 km what i drove them. The 1.0 motors overall are a big shit we know all this. Ok I'll throw in my comments based on facts of actually owning and driving all three cars, and not just stuff that I've read. First and as I've said many times and written here on KZbin (and agreeing with Matt) the Corsa is the best all rounder of these three, as it does feel biggest inside, its very reliable, the ride is comfortable enough, its just good at everything without being class topping in anything and for that reason I'd recommend people to buy one. So, breaking down my own findings based on what I have ACTUALLY owned (present or past) and drove with two of them being brand new cars: * Vauxhall Corsa Club 1.4 auto (2009 car) - I drove this for 3 years, never any reliability issues with it other than a 'niggle' which was the windscreen wiper would make an audible knock when at full swing almost like it was too long, fuel consumption was average, comfort was fine and not soft or hard, interior room was very good, it was an excellent all rounder and for looks then I would call it a good looking car without turning heads. * VW Polo Match 1.4 auto (2012 car) - I drove this for 3 years after the Corsa, never any reliability issues other than 2 replacement windscreen wipers and 1 blown headlamp bulb, it felt a better quality and had a classier inside than the Corsa, it had more solidity of build than the Corsa, comfort was fine without being too hard or soft, fuel consumption was excellent with 62mpg on a given run longer than 30 miles due to its 7 speed DSG box (and I am from a part of the country without motorways), its a superb car and class leading in terms of solidity, its engine is smoother than the Corsa and made the latter feel like an arthritic wheezy slug on the road, but one 'downside' for those that I am aware make an issue of 'looks' then yes I agree the Polo is a dull looking box on wheels (but I don't care in this regard). * Ford Fiesta Edge 1.4 auto (2012 car) - actually this car was second hand is my wife's and has been owned for 2.5 years, however I've driven it many times particularly when she has wanted our Seat Leon with it's increased room for our adult children and grandchildren, it's proven reliable, fuel consumption is average but nowhere near as good as the Polo, comfort is very good and not too soft or hard, interior room is okay but doesn't feel as large as the Corsa, and as for looks to me its stunning indeed the prettiest of these 3 by miles but there's so many Fiesta's on our roads that I doubt they turn any heads. So in summary I would state that all of these 3 cars are excellent cars, none is outstanding in all points, but if you wish for an excellent all rounder go for the Corsa, if it's build quality and superb mpg its the Polo, if its comfort and good looks then has to be the Fiesta. If the money is available and you can make any choice then I would go this way: 1) Polo, 2) Fiesta, 3) Corsa. However, I stress none of these cars are bad cars and I would not argue with anyone who selected differently unless their main criteria is for the looks and I have never gotten that one but maybe I am more mature in years than most who argue in this regard. One deciding factor could be for those having second hand cars and here thinking of ease to obtain parts from say a breakers yard I would imagine the choice would be: 1) Fiesta, 2) Corsa, 3) Polo. Thank you, Paul

Chatta290 As on said I wrote on experience of actually having owned and driven them all and that's that. However, I did not say the Polo was best for comfort and I feel I gave that to the Fiesta. Personally I have never heard any horror stories with any of them and I am from the UK.
@Horizon301.8 жыл бұрын
Dahlia Man I am also from the Uk and with potholes and driving at high speeds the polo is far better, more insulated less wind whistle whereas the fiestas chunky wing mirrors cause a lot and the suspension is far more suited to less ideal road conditions e.g. Pothole covered roads. The polo has far better quality aswell not to Mention the depreciation is lower then the fiestas why because it's a VW
@Dahliaman18 жыл бұрын
Chatta290 Very well put, and I forgot to mention depreciation which of course would be another factor to consider.
@Horizon301.8 жыл бұрын
Dahlia Man yeah my parents bought both in 2014 valued at the same and this year with the same milage the polo was worth around £1500 more so that shows the VW depreciation tactic is true and its because its a more desirable brand

Fantastic! My brother had been learning to drive in a Fiesta just like that one, they are very smart, all 3 are nice cars here, of course the Polos 1.0 3 cylinder engines are from the Up! FWIW in March 2016 I bought a new Fiesta ecoboost 100 from dealer stock with a great deal (fast forward to 2022 and there's almost no such thing as dealer stock anymore and I could probably sell the Fiesta for what I paid for it - but it's a "keeper"); it is a great fun drive and it's on the optional 17 inch wheels which IMHO look really good and set the car off. My younger daughter is currently driving a 2016 Polo 1.2 TSI bought a few weeks back with 50,000 miles (about twice the mileage of my Fiesta). it's a much more "mature" car than the Fiesta with a notable upgrade in interior quality than the Fiesta and more modern dashboard display, infotainment system etc.. but it's the Fiesta that puts a smile on my face when driving pleasure is taken into account.

Which would be best for students? Fiesta is nice but the flat load bay in the polo is a huge win over. Not even considering the corsa, just no.
@darksideofmind918 жыл бұрын
Just for curiosity, you should make the same test with the Fiesta ST vs Polo GTI vs Corsa OPC (or whatever name it has on Vauxhall, I only know the Opel's one). Even though I'm sure the Fiesta ST would win, I may be wrong and btw it would be a nice review. Think about it Mat ;)

If your in the UK you would have seen it on Watchdog Corsas are catching fire, just like the Zafiras. Buy a Vauxhall Opel at your own risk.

+MRTOWELRACK - Vauxhall are the same as Opel which in turn is owned by GM but I believe those two brands are for the UK and Europe only. Vauxhall for UK and Opel for Europe both exactly the same cars just different badge.

joe bloggs'Corsas are catching fire'. That's a new one on me and I had one fro 3 years, super reliable it was too. I feel your statement is far too ambiguous so can you give more detail - all Corsas or only certain models/years; all Zafiras etc etc? This always annoys me when people write on you tube with no facts, detail, evidence etc. Its the same as if I say "the moon is made of cheese"!!!

Your comparing a St fiesta to two other 1 liter hatchback cars... Ye there's gonna be a slight difference in fun. Try the 1.4 turbo corsa. The polo tsi 1.2 or 1.4 turbo. And ecoboost fiesta 1.6 turbo. I don't know everything about them but they seem to be the bog standard ones you compared. But ye seems a fair outcome anyway.

@ryanclark16055 жыл бұрын
@@Thomas-wg3ls I did listen he did mention St, ecoboost etc. And if it isn't quick at all. I still can't think it's more fun so it's basically its the same as the others Alright then? Plus it did say St model, but did say 100 hp so not very clear.
@Thomas-wg3ls5 жыл бұрын
@@ryanclark1605 he says "St line." they're are shit. My dad tries to sell them but no one will touch them cause they're slow (97hp) and are expensive too. Corsa is the best here. Even a corsa vxr is better then a fiesta St. Cheaper and quicker with better interior and exterior
@ryanclark16055 жыл бұрын
@@Thomas-wg3ls yes and I did say I don't know much about them. Never owned a Ford don't plan to either. Only ever owned a corsa I have a 1.4 limited edition I get vxr if I had the money.. Ye I do think they bland and slow for the money to be honest.

I know this is Years later, but for me, it would be the Polo because of the Reliable Vw Engine,, then the Corsa, then the Fiesta, But if the Fiesta doesn't have the Wet Belt engine, that would be second. For me, in 30 years time, the Corsa will be a Classic and Worth Money, they are worth nothing right now, but just watch in 30 years, they will be like a well loved car and probably rare by then..

Vauxhall corsa is the best for new drivers because it's cheaper insurance ..Corsa insurance group 3- polo 7 and fiesta is usually 13/14

Trè 300 the polo holds its value quite a bit better after 2 years a polo and fiesta with the same mileage and value the polo will be worth £1500 more. This is accurate information

I think you need to have your license for a year before you can get the 1 year free insurance ..and to be honest the Corsa is a pretty good car..I got the 2016 limited edition with the 1.4 engine ..it's fun to drive, has good equipment and looks good inside and out

Trè 300 I don't know about that, we had the free insurance and it covers around three people so its good to have as a incentive to buy
@jordanbell44206 жыл бұрын
I disagree. As we all know, new drivers are the worst drivers, and are the most likely to be involved in an accident, or have near-misses, due to entering corners too quickly. Therefore, the Fiesta would be the better first car, because a you have a better chance of making it around a corner at speed, whereas the Corsa would just understeer off the road. Especially given that a new driver would be using the pull-push steering technique, and would probably be panic-braking.
@kadajawi65676 жыл бұрын
I wholeheartedly disagree with that result. Had a 2016 Corsa for a day, and it was a nightmare. Android Auto? Wouldn't work. Instead, after only 30 minutes the sat nav crashed. Completely. Radio was blasting at high volume, I couldn't change the station. I couldn't lower the volume. Or turn it off. Hold the power button pressed for a minute? Didn't help. After like 20 minutes listening to annoying music (even turning off the car in hopes of getting the damn thing to stop) it eventually rebooted. My Golf with Discover Pro hasn't had such an issue in 2 years. And then there's the drive. It was noisy in the cabin. And the handling was just exhausting. I haven't driven a car this bad for ages. On the highway you are CONSTANTLY correcting, because every tiny bump on the road sends it in a different direction. It's a daily driver, not a sports car. It shouldn't do that. It should go in a straight line! The last car I drove that behaved worse than this was a Daihatsu Hijet Maxx commercial van. After a 2 1/2 hour drive I was more exhausted than after 5 hours in my Golf, or in my Citroen Xsara. Or even a Renault Kangoo. In this class I've driven the A1, outgoing Polo, and Peugeot 208 (also C4 Cactus), and by far the best car, most grown up feeling car was the Peugeot. That one is fun to drive, with its tiny steering wheel, and it can do 180 without making you sweat. It just goes in a straight line, as a car should if the steering wheel is centered. The Polo does the same, but without the fun. The A1 is basically like the Polo, with a posher, nicer interior and some good sound dampening. And the Corsa is... you know what? I'd take a 1996 Fiesta over it. That handles better, and feels more stable at speed.

Whilst Mat is great, I don't think that you should compare a 75bhp Polo with a 100bhp Fiesta. There is enough commonality within the range for a better comparison. I am not sure why VW offer a 75 bhp Polo. Worse still they offer a 85 bhp Golf. For very little money more they offer some great, more economic petrol engines. I can't work it out. £18K for a shockingly underpowered, uneconomic engine! Is it a German thing?
