Doesn't really matter though. The fiesta is quicker but since it's a manual the gear shifts are rougher compared to the opels refined automatic gearbox. However, as I said it doesn't matter. The fiesta will still be more fun to drive. Even If you get the 100pk model. Or the 125pk.

@Russell Durrant again no. Because its again widely known that the ford focus and ford fiesta are the best cars to drive in their segment. No other car comes close to handling. Even the most basic version of a fiesta would compete and or beat with the sportiest version of the corsa. And she said it wouldn't be fair. But she really only meant the horsepower. Because every car reviewer would agree that the fiesta would be the better on road experience. Even if it would have the same horse power. And also an automatic. It doesn't matter. Because the chassis and the responsiveness and directness is class leading in the fiesta.

@Russell Durrant the quality of the gear shift as perceived by the passenger might be down to the skill of the driver, but it's the driver who will tell you how easy (and fun) it is to get nice smooth shifts. Some gearboxes are a pleasure to use; many aren't (and the Corsa manual box isn't great according to the reviews). If you've only driven cars with good quality gearboxes then you're lucky :) @hollyhgamer88 automatic doesn't necessarily mean smooth, and it's easy to get smooth shifts with a good manual. If your manual changes are rough then either it's a very bad box, or you're doing it wrong :)

True - I've been looking at leasing.com a lot recently, and the Corsa is usually one of the cheapest cars. Eg. currently £6.8k total cost for 3 years 8k miles for a well equipped Elite Nav Premium. Cheapest Fiesta is a lower spec (and slower) 100 ST-Line 3 door at £8k. But they do go up and down - a few months ago there were some 125 ST-Line X and Active Xs for Corsa money (you need an X for climate, but you also get B&O sound).

Having driven both , both were 2020 yr cars brand new at the time, both drove nice, fiesta seemed a tad noisier inside, but handled better than the corsa, however being over 6ft tall the fiesta was easier to get in and out of , the corsa was more difficult for me, if I was to buy one it’d be more likely the fiesta on space for driver , and slightly sharper handling, but for a slightly smother ride it’d be corsa , however I think they’re both nice cars, my daily driver is a Mondeo and the wife’s car is an Astra, I guess you compare to what you’re used too as well.

The corsa design is good. But the puretech Peugeot engines with that crappy belt in oil... New fiestas now have chain driven camshafts. Also, had fun with my ST line against a Peugeot 208. Peugeot is great on bends, but my fiesta had more power and distanced itself from the Peugeot with the same engine these corsa use

I have a new Corsa (sri Premium with the 100bhp engine) and I used a Fiesta ST Line as a courtesy car when my Corsa was getting repaired (some old woman pulled out of a road straight in front of me). My personal opinion was that the Corsa is a much better car to drive. Before getting the Corsa I was deciding between that and a Fiesta and I'm glad I went with the Corsa.

At last! - Rebecca gets to review some cars, not the usual interminably boring string of SUV's - and she does her usual excellent job - best car reviewer on the net. I owned the previous versions of both the Fiesta and Corsa, and Rebecca is spot on - they are both very good, but the big difference is in the steering - the Corsa's is far too light - the Fiesta's is spot-on. It's a shame, it spoils the Corsa on the open road. I've got an Ibiza now - better than you might think, but not as good as the Fiesta.

Well the fiesta always ranked high on the safety regulations. Reliability is very good with ford's. Just keep it under maintenance at an official dealer. The price is not far off from the corsa. The technology in the corsa is a bit better. Although not by a long shot. Really only the digital dials. Soo there you have it. The fiesta still makes more sense. Because in the end of the day. You still need to drive your car. And if one puts more of a smile on your face than the other.. why wouldn't you get it if the rest is mostly similar?

On the Corsa’s climate control adjustment, just use the auto function. In 15 years of owning various brands of cars with climate control or dual control. I’ve generally not once used anything other than the Auto function…. If it’s a good system then out side of adjusting the temperature a few degrees here or there on hotter or colder days there’s no need to interfere with the Auto function in any way…. Even on an electric car, just use the app to preheat or pre cool the car and again just use the Auto function

Hi ! Thanks for the review Rebecca ! Always a pleasure to have your thoughts (especially on car dynamics). :D Judging by your reactions, the Fiesta is very enjoyable to drive (without putting my licence in danger). I hope you'll make a video about the Fiesta ST soon. When I tried a Fiesta (ST-Line), I didn't like the 1.0 Ecoboost : I found it rough and it didn't seemed keen to rev past 5500rpm. However, the rest of the car is good : the ergonomics are spot on (driving position, seats, pedal and gear lever placement), visibility is good, materials are good, especially on the touch points (steering wheel, gearknob, handbrake), the Full LED headlights are excellent (bright with a very good range) and the chassis is great (great grip, playful within the speed limits, yet predictable and comfortable enough for me). I must try a Fiesta ST (The 1.5 Ecoboost felt good in a Focus, so in a Fiesta, it must be great). Keep doing what you're doing. P.S. : Thanks to the Cargurus channel, good work. :)

How silly you have compared a super sporty fiesta with a mid range corsa, and you being a racing driver will always go for power over function, i don't care for either car i test drove the corsa sri still not very nice to drive, so i brought a second hand Volvo for the same money much better. I own a opel corsa or for the UK a vauxhall Corsa. The first time driving it I was braking for a intersection I almost smacked my head to the steering wheel. Opel/vauxhall is in French hands and French cars tend to have sensitive brakes in general so since then Iam easy in the brakes.

@@Dan_Cartlidge I owned a mk7.5 Zetec S and now a mk8 ST and haven’t got a clue what any of you are talking about. The steering in both is fine. Put the ST into sport mode and the steering feels heavier than a 205 GTi without power steering.

My missus has a 2018 Fiesta Ecoboost Auto, and I agree the Fiesta is great to drive, a proper drivers car, and I agree it's small for over 6ft, I'm only 6.1 but I cannot get in if I'm wearing a coat and without it's a snug fit but much better once in, the width legroom for the driver isn't so great where your left knee gets a jabbing from the center console but otherwise the driving position is comfy, and if you're tall that center armrest is pointless. An annoying complaint that I hope they haven't continued in the latest cars is the mobile phone resting place being so small in the console, even a Galaxy S7 only just squeezes in there without any case on, and there's a symbol showing charging place but there isn't one as it's just a rubber mat. As for the Hybrid part I would steer clear, it's just a poor gimmick because Ford are being stubborn about making them full EV.

Both of these cars are a poor long term buy. Their engines are poorly designed. The 1.0 ecoboost engines suffer from overheating general reliability issues and many independent garages won't touch them. The Corsa uses the PSA/Stelantis puretech engines that suffer from general reliability issues and premature cambelt failure.

The fiesta engine is a gem. We have had 2 now with 125ps and both were great engines and the main reason we purchased. I know there were some issues earlier on but they were resolved years ago.

If I had to choose out of the three, then the Sandero without the Stepway. It manages to beat the Corsa and Fiesta for practicality in terms of boot space and rear seat space. It may not be as fun to drive as either of them and it may be a very basic small car but it also looks better than the other 2 from the outside.

For me I don't like the fiestas cabin, the entry level touch screen is awful and fiestas are just so common, everyone you knows either got one or had one. The corsa looks better than it ever has, the SRI trim is nice looking but again the cabin is a bit boring. Personally for the same money I'd be getting a pergeot 208 over both.

@@keithjones9054 agreeable to some extent that Ford do sell better than Vauxhall but there’s more to it than just chip shortages. When it comes to the Fiesta & Focus, they are 2 of the least practical cars in their segment, a Skoda Fabia is more practical than both of them. Yes prioritising crossovers is the thing now since the Puma is based on the Fiesta and the Kuga being based on the Focus hence the fact cars like the Puma are more attractive and still decent enough value for money but even so SUVs are not even all that. Puma just looks like a Fiesta in shoe lifts.

Had a new corsa as a courtesy car for a week, my opinion it has total sex appeal ,driving was an absolute pleasure, where as fiesta still pure boy racer, my thoughts anyway.

I would go with the fiesta. All day every day. More fun to drive. And now with a much better interior compared to the old one.. its a no brainer for me. But than again. I am kinda biased to ford. I love my focus as well. And would even choose a focus st above an audi rs or Mercedes amg. In my opinion there just isn't a better company that does driving as good as Ford has done. Whether it's the fiesta or focus. Both are just ontop of the world in the fun factor. Regardless if they are fast or not. Although.. a fiesta st with 200pk is probably most people would ever need. Just like the focus st with 280pk. You don't need more than that. Heck even the diesel focus st with 190pk is perfect. 🤷‍♂️ so yes no brainer. Always will choose a Ford if I have the option to.

I've done over 300k miles in a mondeo and 270k in another mondeo they never cost me anything other then Normal wear and tear parts great cars. Then again my mum owned a Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost and the engine blew up at the traffic lights with no warning nicely just outside warranty. So my opinion are Mondeos diesels are good but I wouldn't touch any of that Ford EcoBoost crap

Fiesta easy win. Vauxhall’s German Opel cars overall have always been second but more third rate at best, perhaps the French will now do better with it than the Germans ever did.

I prefer German built cars, better quality, hold the vale better. If I had to choose from theese two it's got to be the fiesta, has a better pedigree than the corsa!!!

Probably not the only one. But I don't understand you no. It's very sharp agile. Taking corners always brought a smile on my face in the old fiesta and now focus. (Even drove the new fiesta and yes still a smile). So it most be you. Maybe you only drove it on a straight line. Than it can seem a bit dull. I most say though. I like the responsive steering the most of it. Every little movement you make gets picked up. You really feel connected. The other cars in the same segment just feel floaty with their steering wheel.

Today Ford Europe has finally confirmed that Fiesta production will cease in 2023. It's sad really as Ford is axing all its smaller vehicles in favour of more lucrative SUVs and electric autos. As Mike Rutherford told LBC 97.3 today (October 26) just after 0300 it will lead to Asian manufacturers expanding in the UK market.

Fiesta wins every time. Great fun to drive. Looks good. The latest interior outstandingly smart and the instrument panels easy to use and understand. Well done Ford. Such a shame that you are ending the Fiesta line. If you made an electric version you would definitely be the market leader.

The Corsa is a great motorway car but otherwise a bit dreary imo. Poor gear shift typical of Stellantis (and Vauxhall/Opel) vehicles. Dreadful dash display. Never a car I would ever spend my own money on.

Have the dreaded downsizing conundrum looming. Looking at these might just go all in on the full fat st fiesta though if ive got to run around in a teeny box least it should be nippy and fun. Will be getting train to and from work so the motorway refinement isnt an issue anymore.

What on earth is that infotainment screen in the Fiesta it looks like someone has stuck a laptop on the dash. Also why is it that the Fieata always feels like your driving a go cart I don't like that feeling. I as for the Corsa why do car manufacturers insist on putting heating and air controls on those bloody infotainment screens just stick to buttons or dials.
