I drove this car as a loan car when my AMG was being serviced. I was impressed. It looks small outside, but ridiculously spacious inside. But it's not that fast, but not too slow either. What I liked about is how easy it is to launch. It's ready anytime, unlike the A45 and CLA45 where you have take few steps before you can launch them.

Those outer grilles actually do have a purpose; the horizontal strakes help align the airflow so that it goes through those wheel curtain vents instead of up and over

Bought one of these 2 weeks ago . Definitely loving it. We are a young family with a 4 month year old and eventually more on the way and it checks all the boxes. When he's not in the car I can still feel like I'm driving something fun when I slam on the pedal. Dad will never grow up

Vans are boxy , functional rather than designed for looks, with usually squared shaped , slightly rounded front ends and literally a box behind that. This looks exactly the same. Its a bonnet and a box behind it. If you take out the rear seats the only thing that tells its not a van is the raised , probably non-flat floor. Its hilarious how the industry taught people anything with ground clearance higher than 5cm is an "SUV".

Haven't tried out an AMG SUV yet but when I took my E450 coupe in for service they gave me an A35 AMG sedan with this same powertrain and it's pretty fun. It definitely has some character and personality to it! I do agree about the road noise though and that's really my one and only complaint as even with the 19" wheels on the A35 tire roar is definitely a thing at highway speeds.
