Own one since December 2019 and now driven 78000 km. This review helped me make the purchase. I was at BMW today and saw the new BMW 5 series which has sharper lines and looks more futuristic. This version while older still looks fine and is ageing well😊

i m looking to buy one from 2020 with 70000-100000KM. is eiter this or the 2020 3 serie?. im doing highways everyday 140+Km so yea whats ur oppinion? and cost u had already execept maintenance?
@FABM279 ай бұрын
@@thibo764 you need to decide first between the 3 and 5 series. If you are alone most of the time then 3 series is more than enough. If you travel a lot with family and if there are adults going to sit behind then definitely 5 series. But i think 3 series should be “adequate” for 90% of usage. If you drive upwards of 140km everyday then I would recommend the 330D or 530D which comes with the 3 litre 6 cyclinder engine. If I could do it again then I would probably go for the 545e LCI version which has the 3 litre 6 cyclinder engine and also has the battery useful for short distances. The car has low maintenance costs. In my case I had an issue with swing arms in the front suspensions which was not diagnosed correctly do ended up having to change brakes 2 times in 12 months but BMW covered a lot of the cost. Aside from the issue with brakes, just had couple of minor issues with the TPMS sensors. Rest was all regular service and maintenance related to oil changed etc. If you are financially smart and disciplined then 330D or 530D from 2019-20 is the way to go!!!
@thibo7649 ай бұрын
thx for this knowledge. im kinda scared for the maintenace cost of the 3liters diesels. + in my country they punish u very badly with high taxes for the 3 liters caus ur not saving the earth..... . main reason to use is for work but also for holidays . im checking to see if i find some 3 liters perhaps. but the taxes are a triplle of the 2 liter diesels. thx for the info @@FABM27

Perhaps they added more gadgets. Acceleration, smoothness of this car is great. If I could afford it would be in my garage right now. The owner told me that he did a trip London - Berlin in it and averaged 48 mpg and wasn't driving economically doing more than 100+ m/hr where he could, which is great for such a fast and big car.

Saves you a bunch of money and you'll get a normal keyless fob.

It sucks how these reviews always focus on the new tech too much instead of the basics of the car that come as standard. I can tell you that the new 5-series is great to drive especially compared to the old F10. It's a hell of a lot better. It feels light and agile like a BMW should, unlike the F10 which felt heavy and understeering. The steering feels a bit too light though in comfortmode, but when you customize your own sport individual mode and only select the sportsteering it's weighed just right.

Erwin Schrödinger not really. as the reviewer said before, the 530d has a 3.0 turbo 6 while the 530i has a 2.0 turbo 4 so there isn't a trend or a specific formula in the naming scheme its just whatever number the engineers feel like putting. Anyone who isn't into beamers will definitely get confused
