3:38 They kept the wheel arches their, so that the door panels for the gladiator would be the same as that for the wrangler. In-other words you can steal your mates wrangler doors, if you wreck the ones on your gladiator :)

They kept the rear door shape of the JL so that there would be tons of door options available for the Gladiator from day one. Any aftermarket JL doors will fit on the Gladiator. It's a huge bonus when you don't have to wait for the aftermarket to catch up to a new vehicle design. I know someone who actually started buying his aftermarket parts before he could even buy a Gladiator, because so much was already available (due to it essentially being a JL from the doors, forward).

The reason they kept the doors shorter and harder to get into is so that the optional extras (such as the prison doors) would be the same on both the Wrangler and the Gladiator.

Look at story til now, WAYALIFE, trail recon, Mr and mrs overland, and more..... they take the gladiator on any trail any off road vehicle can go on. It’s a pretty darn serious off roader if you ask any of those guys. The gladiator is better and can do better in harsh roads compared to any other pickups. Smaller suv type vehicles like the wrangler or jimmy might be better but as for pick ups, there’s none that is a better off roader than the gladiator if minimal modifications.
