It seems like there are a few cars on this list with that issue. MG is another one for me. They used to make some really nippy motors back in the MG Rover group days. The Maestro Turbo was quick, as was the ZS, ZT 260 and the X-Power. Now it's a Chinese car brand with little to no character in any of their motors. The Subaru BRZ is just way too slow as well. Over 7 seconds for a 0-60 in a modern say sports car, and the Imprezas are left to die with 0-100kph times drifting close or over 10 seconds depending on the model.

I think that the quotient of the acceleration times should be considered, not their difference. With fast cars, a certaing time difference is much more significant than with slow cars. For example, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 14 and 16 seconds, the acceleration doesn't change much, but, if it's in 3 and 5 seconds, the acceleration change is much more significant, and in both cases, the difference is 2 seconds. If the difference is considered, it favors manufacturers with very slow cars, and handicaps manufacturers with very fast cars, because times for 0-100 can grow to infinity and can't go below 0. Manufacturers with the smallest quotients of acceleration times: Ssangyong - 1.062 Polestar - 1.071 Smart - 1.104 Rolls-Royce 1.155 Abarth - 1.164 Manufacturers with the greatest quotients of acceleration times: Nissan - 4.535 Honda - 3.862 BMW - 3.687 Audi - 3.548 Mercedes-Benz - 3.343 Edit: Notice that the greatest differences of times are mostly on manufacturers making very slow cars, but the greatest quotients of times are mostly on manufacturers making both fast and slow cars. (Also, I added two more entries to each of the lists.)
