Shelby GT500 does 10.5s and 10.6s in the quarter mile with trap speeds of 133mph and 134mph and even 135mph sometimes. It needs prep surface sadly because it's front engine and rwd. These cars like Lamborghini and Porsche have mid engine and rear engine layout plus AWD which makes all the difference. Anyway, the GT500 is a beast in roll races.

Well both car is overpriced in the UK and not only that just slow from a dig. I seriously don't understand what Ford, Chevy, GM and all these car makers who make 800 + HP cars and yet make then RWD. Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaro's are notorious for having shitty starts because all you do is sit there and spin tires, while say an AWD car like the GTR that only makes 600 HP will out launch and beat a mustang in a quarter mile. Now a rolling race will be different because the car already has traction.

@xIcarus2273 жыл бұрын
@@shaynehuneault1915 well said, this is gonna have a good impact considering these cars make peak power very high in the rev range since they're supercharged. It's a similar story to the manual vs auto Mustang GT, the auto is not only faster because of the shift time but an extra 4 gears means the car is very close to peak power at all times whereas the manual has few and very long gears. Ford were really smart putting a 10speed in an NA engine, these engines benefit a lot from extra gears.

The 6-speed has a slightly taller gears than the 7-speed DCT, but in 3rd gear, they're basically identical (1.42 vs 1.43) at least with the stock transmissions, so those extra 110 HP and 50Nm should've been most evident at that rolling race pull, just before the shift to 4th. But they were missing from the picture. Tbh it looked like the Shelby was going with the power at the wheels figures and the tuned one power at crank.

I cannot really understand the decisions that car owners make sometimes. They spend tons of money and their car cannot put all the power on the road because of wheel spinning or "unreliability" that the gearbox will blow up. Even though Mustangs sound loud and cool, they are relatively slow (and relatively cheap too). Really interesting.... Spend for loads more & get less!! Just proving that the auto twin-clutch gearboxes have surpassed anything a human can do manually!

Amazing what a gearbox can do huh? I'll take the GT 500 just for that Predator motor, stunning engineering in that engine, also sounds better, imo, than the Coyote

The Shelby GT500 is a mid 10 second doing 10.5s and 10.6s in the quarter mile with trap speeds of 133mph and 134mph and even 135mph depending on the track conditions and elevations. It needs prep surface tho. I live in the US and this is my dream car. I love the DCT!!

Nope. Stock tires. Evan did 10.61 on factory street tires in Bradenton Florida.

It doesn't matter. 10.6 is a 10.6 period. I hate when people bring prep surface. It's front engine and rwd not AWD with mid engine layout.

This is a pretty big win for the Shelby division. Usually, buying a cheaper model of the same car, and modifying it, will give you better results in speed, braking, and cornering, but we have seen that even modifying a Mustang GT to where it has more power and upgrades everything else, it still doesn’t win against a stock GT500. Well done Shelby division!

The Shelbys for the masses (350, 350R and 500) are developed and built by Ford Performance. The tuner Shelby American does for example the super snake variants.

I don’t know man, the gt500 is a monster when it comes 60-130 times. Prepped surface it runs 10s all day.
@sdkurt84873 жыл бұрын
My thoughts are that in the near future everything will be slow compared to electric, then finally people will care less about raw speed and more about how the car makes you feel. GT500 is an experience for the senses.

The Shelby GT500 actually does 10.5s and 10.6s in the quarter mile with trap speeds of 133mph and 134mph and even 135mph depending on the conditions but it needs a prep surface to do it. It's a 10 second car. This is non prep surface.
