Eh, it’s something that I’ve been saying they should implement into cars years ago, using an ICE engine essentially just as a generator for the electric motors. But in reality this idea has been used for decades in locomotives and off road haul trucks. All diesel electric locomotives have been this way since the 1950s-60s Still, even if Audi didn’t really come up with any new ideas here, it still does look pretty damn cool lol

nah, that dtm engine is purely for recharging. they would eliminate that engine in a heartbeat if there is a slight chance one battery can last an entire leg. but imagine a toned down version of this mgu mated to transmission so its power can stack on the v6 or v8

Keep in mind with the electric vehicles you have full hp if you have over 70% charge in your batteries bellow that cars hp drops dramatically. With the combustion engine you have full hp until your have empty fuel tank .

I don't know where it will take place this year . it was truly from Paris to Dakar for 12 or 14 times, then it take place in South America (8 times at least), i beleive that the last RALLYE take place in Middle East.
