Love watching carwow reviews even though I'm a Brit living in the US and a lot of the cars reviewed aren't even here. One suggestion, when transitioning from reviewing the interior/exterior to actually driving the car, filming how the engine starts would be a nice touch. Maybe show how the car ignition works first (key or start/stop button) then show the exhaust as the engine turns on so we can hear the car's engine note too. Nothing too long, just a 5 second clip so we can hear how the engine lights up depending on if it's a petrol/diesel/electric, etc... Keep up the great work

The A5 used to be the best looking car on Audi's line up, those curves made the car look almost like an Aston Martin version of Audi saloon. This upgrade ruined it, the sharp lines look awful

BMW 4 series Gran Coupe has more backseat room, more boot space and more fun to drive. You're better off getting that or just buy a more practical, cheaper A4.

Richie Chou Why is the A4 more practical? The A5 is more practical, as it has a bigger trunk space and bigger trunk opening. Also, the A5 is better in comparison tests than the outdated BMW 4. Usually the newest car is also the best one in this tests. The interior and exterior of the 4 series also look very outdated, especially the interior which they haven't changed for 10y. Mercedes and Audi are doing a better job there

I can’t believe the new Accord went after this style of design and didn’t include a hatchback. it’s so practical. i can see it being the future for sedans since trunks keep getting smaller and smaller

Has that ugly front look on the A5 growing on anyone yet? Why Audi didn't keep the front of the A4?(_my guess is that if they did then the A5 Sportback would have been better than the A7._) The new 2018 Ford Mustang got the same type of unnecessary ugly front treatment.

I had the pleasure of having this car as a rental for 3 weeks during my stay in the UK (40 TFSI 190HP Petrol, with Stronic automatic gearbox) but I wasn’t really impressed by its driving character. It had either a tremendous turbo lag, or the gearbox is really slow to react. Also the rear suspension was very vague and bouncy over bumbs or holes. It kind of felt like the rear end was floating to the left or right.

There are a lot of comments comparing the new shape of the A5 to the Mondeo. That's awful for Audi. The original 'old' 2008 A5 and its 2012 facelift were an original design for Audi. Nothing could touch it looks wise in its time. The now 'old' A5 is still a stunner and I believe was THE inspiration for the BMW 4 Gran Coupe, the Ford Mondeo Fusion and the new Merc C Class coupe. I don't think this can be disputed. Audi's single angular grill was aggressive and mean. Everyone copied it. Audi had a chance to really improve on the original A5 but have decided to follow the others after it Originally Inspired them, if that makes sense which is a little disappointing. However this is not to take away from the quality vehicle it is. It's faster more efficient and built beautifully.

The Pre-Audi 2013 Sportback is tipped to be modern Day classic. Sadly Audi have soiled the look of this car. I'm very happy with my white A5 Sportback from 2012. It's an s-line so the ride is a bit firm, but I still love that car :)

Ford Mondeo.... This car is aimed at the US market and Audi have pampered to that market as this is the first generation of the A5SB to hit the States... It's a massive shift from the last A5 and the main characteristic of the A5, the tornedo line is totally lost in the harshness of the new sharp lines, such a pity as the A5 WAS one of the best looking cars in the Audi range… Shame…

I own a BMW 535i Xdrive. I have say my last car was a A5 Sportback Quattro and it was more fun than the two previous Rwd bmws I had. Mainly because you can push that Quattro to the limit and its fun it never feels unsafe or unstable. The Xdrive is not so good even though more clever.

The new A5 cockpit is identical to my A4. Spend the extra money on optional extras on the A4 for something that stands out and feels a bit more special on the inside. I was considering the A5 as my next car (in 3 years) until I got this A5 as a courtesy car but having driven it, I couldn't consider it much of an upgrade - the only real bonus is the hatchback boot.

Very strange drawbacks! 40 liter fuel tank???? Come on Audi, even my small Peugeot 208 has a 50 liter fuel tank, why would you spare on something like that? And those rear windows open only half way??? Sometimes the small things on a car which you do not notice when you buy them, annoy you the most.

Kade O'Donnell realistically probably even inferior. Remember this shares a lot of components with cheaper VWs so emphasis is on cost cutting and interior ergonomics, not so much how it drives and reliability.

Kade O'Donnell my dad sells ford's and it's definitely an under rated car . my uncle bought a titanium one with all the extras and it's a great car . the outside looks amazing and the inside is just as good . lovely seats and dash . has heated seats/ steering wheel / wind screen . front/back parking sensors .and still cheaper then a over rated a5

You are wrong, any other car is trying to look like Audi. Just look at the recent LED headlight designs with dynamic indicators. They steal what is unique to Audi and slap it on their own designs. Audi still is class-leading when it comes to interior, ride quality and aerodynamics...

man, I am in the process of buying a car, and can't decide whether to get Audi or VW. These videos are great, they give me great insight on the details. It is a lot of money to spend it without the due diligence. I grew up with VW and used to have a Passat in the US which I loved, but now I am in Europe and I want to see if the extra price of an Audi is worth it.

It's for the Ad-blue additive. Mixed with the diesel to reduce emissions. Used on most trucks now also. :)

Have been looking at A5 sportback for a while but now seriously considering A4 S Line as it's much cheaper. For the price of 190bhp a5 sb you can can get 272bhp A4 S Line, which screams value for money.

When rear seats are folded the booth floor is a little inclined. You are talking about this as a negative attribute when you are talking about Civic and as a positive attribute when you present A5. I suspect you are a little favoring German cars over Japanese.

One of the most important things to consider when you are buying A5 .. Would it be possible to move furniture around ? Thank Gad , YES! And funny, there are no levers to fold down the seats, but surprise - it does not bother you, Mat?
