CARY GRANT stars in "Black Curtain" [remastered] • SUSPENSE Radio's Best Episodes

Long before TV soaps gave us stories based on amnesia, Suspense created this one with Cary Grant. After slipping on an icy sidewalk and banging his cranium, Cary isn't sure of his own identity! He then finds himself being pursued by a man with grey eyes. Worse, he's also been accused of murder! The sound quality for this upload is excellent, as it has been fully restored and digitally remastered ( this recording is over seventy years old! ) It replaces my upload from a year ago.

✓✓✓√√√✓√✓ Stuff . . . and such: Cary Grant did three episodes of Suspense, and all are in one playlist shared with JAMES MASON on this channel. Grant proves to be an excellent voice actor (many movie stars couldn't handle live radio!) Four years after this broadcast a One Hour version of "Black Curtain" was done by Suspense. It was produced by Robert Montgomery (but without Cary Grant)

Cary Grants real name was Archibald Alec Leach . Wikipedia has a lot of interesting information on his difficult life growing up. It's encouraging to see how people make it past the past and go on to be someone great !😁👍

I was reminded of that name recently when I watched "A Fish Called Wanda." Archie Leach was the main character's name! Cary Grant, and all the other great actors from that era will never exist again. Thank goodness for TCM (and Suspense!)

Charlie, you always add that all the episodes are in the public domain. While I agree with you and believe this to be true, what proof could I deliver to the naysayers? I often do recreations of these classic episodes but I always stumble into someone who bulks and makes a fuss about IP.

I make a point in all my descriptions because KZbin often took down my upload due to a claimed copyright. I had to do a little research, but basically back when these shows aired the laws enacted stated that since radio broadcasts could be heard free by everyone, everything that went over the airwaves became property of the public (public domain) the recordings I use are of the actual broadcasts from that era. The laws were changed in the early 70's but these old shows remain in the public domain, and cannot be retroactively copyrighted. These are words I've always used to challenge KZbin, and they always put my upload back. They now leave me alone, for the most part. I can't comment on written words that may be copyrighted, but you have the right to at least comment on them, or can do "satire" of popular events or people. I also think that if you write your own script and just slightly alter the dialog you should be okay. You'll have to do a little research on your own . . . The proof is out there.
