Like 2 hrs ago on ESPN, Shannon Sharpe had the *Bucs* as his #4 team & Stephen A. had them at #5 in their _Top Teams in the NFL_ segment. Both also said Baker is playing like a top 5 QB right now. The "Bake-aneers" are _finally_ getting some respect.

So cool watching Baker’s interview. A very natural guy. Been following his career since he came off the bench and brought the Browns back to beat the Jets in 2018. A dangerous quarterback and a winner.

Kinda crazy how similar Baker’s situation leaving Texas Tech was to his situation with Cleveland. Plays well for a bad team, brings them success, gets hurt expecting to be the starter when he’s healthy again, and shown the door both times. He sure managed to turn the Texas tech experience around at Oklahoma, so I’d bet he’s ready to do the same with Tampa!

The best part about this interview is that if you didn't speak English, based on the tone of all the participants, you would think it was Firing Line with William F. Buckley. Exhibit A that you don't have to have shouting for a fantastic sports show.

@elizabethgodfrey1033Ай бұрын
You can somehow tell who a man is by the way he reaches back to pull up others! I’ve watched Tom Brady for years. When he abruptly left the Patriots in a big hole, he didn’t even reach back to support Cam Newton. He did little talk about Mac Jones, either. I got the impression he wanted all the praise. The team was a big mess Cam Eaton inherited in July 2020. Past QB1 of Patriots, Drew Bledsoe was among the few who spoke up for Cam that he had no weapons. Cam has held up Bryce Young as he is going through a lot in Carolina. I think Tom Brady should have been there for Cam. He wasn’t It’s good Baker Mayfield, is doing a good job. Success! 👍💕🙏

@@elizabethgodfrey1033 I agree and I love Baker. I have his Jersey and have been a fan since before his days at OU. But you gotta be careful talking about the GOAT.
@elizabethgodfrey1033Ай бұрын
@alexmann152 I admire Baker Mayfield’s courage. Tom Brady is not every1’s GOAT! Joe Montana is still many fans GOAT. IMO, it takes more than winning SBowls to make u the GOAT. Who do u serve? Who do u support? Who else’s back do u scratch to make their lives better? Do u support QBs who beat ur a*s? Brady has won 7 Super Bowls. That’s really good. But, he doesn’t support a QB who has beat him. Cam beat him 2xs when Brady was a Patriot. Eli Manning best him in 2 SBs. I love Cam Newton. He didn’t turn on Peyton Manning when he got awarded SB50. IMO, Brady could’ve helped & supported Cam Newton, as his First Successor. He didn’t do nothing to help Cam. Drew Bledsoe is who spoke up for Cam & said Cam need weapons to win. Brady stayed mum. Some of the stuff AB said about Brady is true. I know folks dislike AB. But, Brady did provoke AB in 2022. Brady has been nasty at players & coaches, too. He was cruel to Honey Badger, AB, Nick Foles, etc. 😳😞
@sammyiglesa5698Ай бұрын
Yeah but Bledsoe was also one of the people who said that when Brady got the job in 2001 he still asked questions and wanted to work with Bledsoe treating him with respect, whereas he said Romo basically changed his tune once he became the starter in Dallas and “knew all the answers”. Also when has a QB for a different team ever come back to help out an opposing teams QB when the coach wronged him? He wanted to stay, Kraft chose Belichick, why would Brady want to be involved with the team. Can Newton also has criticized the team several times throughout his career and even after he retired. Finally, when Brady started his career he made sure to have his entire o-line in commercials so they would also get paid. He’s had several player who said Brady could’ve been an A**hole to everyone but wasn’t. I think you have a misconception of him.
