Beautiful and long lasting legacy and heritage collections, transcending the boundaries of time and generations. Have visited and toured Casa Manila twice. So timeless & priceless indeed!

Dapat gawin cobblestones ang entire central bloc ng intramuros, from manila cathedral to other end. Tas isara exclusively for pedestrians and perhaps calesas gaya sa vigan

I agree with this. Will be more 18th century feels if the steets will be like that. Also let the calesas driver be served as tour guide also. Give them orientation about the different places in Intramuros. We've been there Feb. 19,2021 more of E trikes and if E trikes are to be considered as a cheaper, let the driver also serve as a tour guide. One good thing new is there are bikes for rental to go around the Intramuros and more Cafe's.

Sadly, Filipinos don't build houses like these anymore. Majority of these can still be found in provinces though, but in old and almost derelict state due to high maintenance issues. Many ilustrados lived in houses like these and many middle classes copied houses like these but in a smaller layout and less intricate details. Meanwhile, single people and lower-class city people live in apartments called Accesoria. The apartment layout is similar to these bahay na bato houses but is divided into many apartments. It's for rent and usually have stores below instead of garages.

mainly because we are facing poverty nowadays and to build houses like these is literally unpractical and honestly very out of touch lol
@duck1ente3 жыл бұрын
we could have built many accessoria to house poor people and make cities aesthetically pleasing. Like the typical apartments in Europe

It depends. With earthquakes and fires, some would opt for modern buildings. Look at Japan, their cities are all concrete and glass. Their historical sites are the only places where old architecture still stands.

The usual complaint about Casa Manila is that there are no explanations to what you’re looking at. They should write down the very good explanation they have in this video, or at least show this video on the site.

Its a beautiful place but the "guardia civil" are not so accommodating in that place though. They play ML on their phones ignoring tourists. So we have to like explore our own to understand the purpose of each items exhibited in the rooms.
