Casablanca Avalon ceiling fan shown with blue Newport blades, ~58" blade span. Blades are essentially new in box. You probably noticed this fan installed here in the studio in my recent NCFD display video. Sometimes I just have to use whatever I currently have installed for the NCFD video due to lack of time to change it, but if I have time, I like to come up with more of a statement to use in the studio (then usually do a video/remake while it's up). These blades have been on my remake list for quite some time, so I thought overall this would be a good opportunity to pull them out. I believe in the original video I had them pitched to the minimum allowance. This time I pitched them to the maximum end, just to see how it'd perform. It's been awhile since I tried it the other way, but I'd say this feels generally less impressive, although it definitely pushes some air out to the sides as you can hear when it picks up on the audio. In any configuration, it's definitely one of the more functional fabric blade options out there. They are oversized, but are rather skinny, and the fabric is dense so the air doesn't simply pass through it. Avalon is a much more elegant and seamless execution of a fabric blade; the construction on these is quite a bit rougher, but would also be easier to repair/replace the fabric. Pluses and negatives on both sides, really. I'm always a sucker for fabric blades, especially in fun colors, so it's always special to have a variety in the collection.
