Thanks for this video, looks like I'll be using CasaOS to install Pi-Hole

just what I was looking for… I had in mind to buy an Orange Pi Zero 3 with 4GB, do you have it or have you tried it? I mainly need it for casaOS with a Plex, Radarr, Overseerr server… Nextcloud and some extra things, do you think it will work for me?

Sorry I don’t have any 4GB device. If you want to run Plex, Radarr.. I think a minipc with HDD+SSD is more suitable.

Why does this excite me so much? I'm gonna install casa os on a pi zero3 to make my own super light mini cloud to vpn into. Why? I am not too sure and I know its totally impractical.

Hello John! I would like your opinion, I want to connect OPIZ3 via cable to a modem, and through the OPIZ3's wifi antenna make wifi available for TUYA devices, on OPIZ3 I installed DEBIAN12 DESKTOP and following your tutorial I installed HASS SUPERVISED, I saw that I would have the possibility to install o CASAOS... Summary of the question, for this configuration what do you recommend, considering that I would like remote access and I already have a domain and a hosting service. grateful!

CasaOS is good but I don't think you shoud run it on Orange Pi Zero3. It was slow and unreliable in my experience. I prefer to run programs on baremetal or docker without any supervisor on top of OS.

@@johndo100 Thanks for your opinion John! Anyway, what do you think of the idea of running HASS on DEBIAN12 DESKTOP? I did some tests and it ran fine, even the updates worked. What I couldn't get to work was the WIFI on the board to connect the TUYA devices to it, with the OPIZ3 connected via a network cable to the Internet. I believe you are an advanced user, do you find this configuration working?

@@fabiovir The Wifi on Orange Pi Zero3 / Debian was fine but some IOT devices only connect to 2.4Ghz band, some of them can not work with WPA2/WPA3. Maybe you need to config Orange Pi Zero 3 access point support 2.4Ghz band and WEP/WPA. You'll need a better antena of course. For example: --freq-band 2.4 -w 1+2. github.com/garywill/linux-router --freq-band Set frequency band: 2.4 or 5 (default: 2.4) -w '2' for WPA2, '1' for WPA, '1+2' for both (default: 2)
