Hola Alberto. Such beautiful countryside. You seem to be very fond of waterfalls. This is the latest in a string of good waterfall videos. I'll never visit this pair of cascadas but thanks to you I've seen them. You have been to Veracruz several times. Have you visited the Salto de Eyipantla where the Rio Catemaca drains into the Laguna Catemaco? I saw it 50 years ago in June before the rainy season was in full force, but even then the waterfall was very impressive. The area seems to have been "improved" since I was there in order to accommodate more tourists. When I was in the area I wanted to visit a village called Mecayapan but I couldn't find it on a map, and I suspect the road at that time was not very good. I wanted to see it because it was reputed to have a church with a thatch roof. Also, the Popoluca women, like the women on the opposite coast around Pinotepa de Nacional, wore a wraparound skirt and nothing above the waist. Not anymore, I regret to say. 50 years ago there were still little villages in the state of Veracruz with lots of thatch roof houses. There used to be a lot in the lower elevations of the state of Hidalgo, as well as churches, and I look forward to your future explorations into those areas to see what, if anything, remains. I'm still working my way through the "Catalogo de Construcciones Religiosos del Estado de Hidalgo". I just finished the municipios of Tepeapulco and Tehuacan de Guerrero. The latter had numerous churches with thatch roofs in 1930. I found an interesting fact about the ex convento of Tepeapulco that might interest you. The adjacent cementerio used to have two stone crosses. The shorter cross was 1.3 meters high and eventually it was placed in the wall of the presbiterio. Perhaps it remains there today.. The second stone cross was 5.5 meters high and in 1648 it was moved to the atrio of the cathedral in Mexico City. It remained there until 1803 when it was placed in front of the Sagrario Metropolitano. I don't know where it is today. Anyway, I thought that was interesting. I've read that the temperature in Mexico s supposed to start cooling off in a few days. I hope so for everyone's sake. The area from Texas to Arizona have had the same high temperatures that have plagued most of Mexico. I'll resend the comment that disappeared when I replied to your pueblos magicos de Puebla, but I'll give you a chance to catch up with what I've already sent. Stay well.

Hello my great friend William, first of all an apology for answering a little late, but I have a visit from my son Miguel who by the way married a girl from Canada and came to see me a few days before going to live in Canada, I hope God will have a beautiful destination. With respect to what you mention, I tell you that I don't know the Eyipantla waterfall, I have heard many about that destination and I hope to go to see it soon, it's good that you don't stop working on the project you have of churches and ex-convents, it will undoubtedly be a jewel to keep. Regarding Tepeapulco, I was unaware of such important data, I will see if I can rescue any image of those crosses since that pulquera land is very close to me hehe, if you tried pulque when you were here ? I send you a brotherly hug friend, God bless you.

@@PuebleandoConAlberto Hola Alberto. Spending time with your son Miguel before he left for Canada was far more important than answering my lengthy comments. Family is important, and if properly nourished family can be priceless. I hope he has happiness and success there. Did I ever try pujque when I was in Hidalgo? No. Decades ago pulque did not have a very good reputation among foreign tourists. Images of stale pulque and borrachos stumbling out of seedy pulquerias resulted in guide books disparaging that beverage. I realize that the quality is much improved and modern transportation prevents staleness, and the alcoholic content is low, but I probably still wouldn't drink it. My father and uncle were both alcoholics (neither was ever drunk, but they drank quite a bit every day and it ruined their health), and since I tend to be a bit obsessive-compulsive I have chosen not to drink and risk continuing that family legacy. My addiction is chocolate. I look forward to learning if you can find out any additional information about the stone crosses from Tepeapulco. I think you would enjoy visiting the Eyipantla waterfall. It's very impressive during the rainy season, but it was still great when I saw it in June. When I drove from San Juan Papaloapan to Oaxaca the road was new and little traveled. There were very few cars on the road. Before reaching the summit I spotted a tall, two tier waterfall in the distance, the water silently disappearing into the dense pine forest. At lower elevations heliconia flowers were growing wild and vines threatened to cover the road. I wish I had been able to explore the area for several days. Anyway, stay well.

@@PuebleandoConAlberto Hola Alberto. No wife. No children. A brother, two nephews, two grand nephews. During the past few decades I've had three fairly serious relationships. I prefer very intelligent women and all three were Ph.D.s. Unfortunately they were all too smart to marry me : ). We always parted friends and kept in touch. The last one and I were together on and off for 25 years before she died of cancer. She was truly remarkable, earning her three degrees summa cum laud from major universities, and looking 20 years younger than her actual age. She was better than I deserved and I was lucky to have her in my life for so long. I like being around people but I don't mind being alone, even for weeks at a time. I have so much to do that at this point I don't know how I would fit another relationship into my life. Stay well, amigo.

@@williamwoods2547 I am very sorry that your partner has died of cancer, unfortunately, many times the most important people have to get ahead of us, but on the other hand, it is great that you have learned to be alone, it is a part that few achieve and that is how I get to know each other more thoroughly. I live with my third partner and we have been here for 14 years now, everything is very good, thank God and we have adapted to our lifestyle, take care of yourself, my friend.
