Silly question but how did you remove the collar with the set screw? That part of the video was cut out. Did you get any video of that process? I was thinking I'd run the set screw out until they clear the notches and then put a pipe wrench on them. I just don't want to mash the collar so it gets egg shaped or break off a set screw. What did you do? Also, the entire assembly wants to move when I apply pressure. How did you hold it in place? I'm afraid if I put a pry bar on the sprocket I could bust some teeth. Thank you in advance!

the Nuts for the clutch adjustment shouldnt be much more than stiff as they live in hydro oil and the thread is pretty fine - as said i didnt need to put undo force on the setup on mine - if you are having issues holding it you could put both large outer nuts on a single shaft and lock them against one another and use one or the other to take the bulk of the torsion.

@@ferretboy221 Appreciate the info. Good idea about the outer nuts!

For what it's worth the Wheel bolt pattern should be the same as a GM half ton PU truck which I assume you could easily find in the UK. I mention this as then you could use/run a 16 inch tire if wanted and the rims would easily hold the weight of the machine, IMHO.

I have a 1529 also, mine has a 3 cylinder water cooled in it? Have you seen any with a 3 cylinder? Also have you looked into getting replacement drive clutch plates? Thanks
@ferretboy2213 жыл бұрын
Is that a Deutz engine?.....clutch plates, i have found some of the proper ones but the cost would be ridiculous to re-line the whole vehicle. so at the moment im looking for a reasonable source of them too. Also to bear in mind there are two different types.
@Falconavich3 жыл бұрын
@@ferretboy221 Dont believe its a deutz engine as its water cooled, I believe its a david brown engine, and ive seen others with the same engine so i dont think its a 'garage shed special'. When you say there are two different types, is that for fwd/rev?
@ferretboy2213 жыл бұрын
@@Falconavich No there are two different clutch plate types as fitted to the whole vehicle ie all 4 sets, my plates are Formsprag plates whereas another skid may have Stearns type plates......they are just two slightly different systems. parts are different in each...but each system does the same job in moving the vehicle

@@TheLj4100 Mine literally have the Name Formsprag stamped in to the outer covers where the levers operate. also the plates are a different shape and design from what ive seen in the parts manual
