HDR is a technique , Carlino is a manouvre.

HDR is applied before introducing the wire into the plaque, allowing for its modulation and facilitating easier wire passage. Carlino is applied when the guidewire stops moving inside the plaque.

In short, the difference is that in HDR contrast comes first, while Carlino in conventional contemporary CTO PCI wire comes first.
