Case 35: Manual of CTO Interventions - IVUS facilitated ADR

This case illustrates use of intravascular ultrasound to determine whether the guidewire is within the distal true lumen or in the subintimal space during CTO crossing attempts. IVUS showed subintimal guidewire position after initial re-entry attempts. Repeat re-entry using the Stingray balloon resulted in distal true lumen wiring and an excellent final result.
