This nutter was on the loose when I was a kid. I had no idea he was spoken to 9 times. That's incredible. The hoaxer is indirectly responsible for some deaths as well. Twat. Great podcast. Top notch research.

He died earlier today due to Covid-19....can't really say it's much of a loss. Good riddance, at least the families can have a bit of closure now. On another note, great podcast, all of yours are done in a way where the information is laid out in an to understand way and theres no bias at all. I'm currently listening through all of your podcasts and enjoying all of them

I thought I knew this case so well, but you've added a lot of information. I only knew up to his arrest and imprisonment. And what a screw up the investigation was. You keep on thinking if only they'd had computers and DNA. Thank you for all your hard work.

Inept police force or what!! He practically had to hand himself in...even then, they weren't sure!! I think the entire police force and Scotland Yard should have been charged with perverting the course of justice. Absolutely disgraceful.

He did hand himself in. In fact he had to set up an elaborate plan to get arrested and go to an outside police force. Put stolen plates on his car and phoned the cops to say where they were parked.

What do you expect? Joke; "A hole has appeared in Manchester market place, the police are looking into it." Useless! Is my long time experience of coppers.

I'm sure at an early point even Sutcliffe himself was shocked that he hasn't been caught.

Back in that time when there were virtually no surveillance cameras How could they confirm the alibis of the many suspects ?
@zarlei6048

Solely through others that would vouch for the person, though they could easily fabricate an alibi even today with the help of a friend, cameras aren't omniscient.

Sutcliffe was a sick, twisted human being. Listening to this podcast, learning about his crimes makes me sad that such people exist but I can't be angry on sick dog. I am angry though at all this staggering incompetence in Yorkshire Police, these people are supposed to keep 'mad dogs' at bay and they failed time after time after time after time ....... Worst still it didn't change much since then.

their part in the worst footballing disaster this country has ever seen, Hillsborough, and for totally denying ANY responsibility for the outcomes that day, totally disregarded the behaviour of a section of their travelling support some of whom were under the influence of drink and arrived late to the match, instead waging a thirty year legal war on commanding police officer on the day in an attempt to totally exempt themselves......the police were wrong, no doubt, but trying to portray Scousers as angels....come on
@robokill387
@robokill387 3 жыл бұрын
@@davidinsweden1 you're stupid if you don't understand that during a crowd crush, nobody in the crowd has control of the crowd. Yes, I do deny that scouser have responsibility for the disaster. Because that's what the science says. That's what all unbiased reports on the disaster say. The only people who still blame the liverpool fans are the police, police apologists, and people who can't let go of what the old, false media reports said, because of stereotypes about scousers. Football hooliganism was massively exaggerated to begin with, it was basically a moral panic in the 80s.
