Case 580CK brake check

So the brake job wasn't too bad. I will be looking at those someday. My battery box might be there but it has no cover, that's for sure. I'll do an update video this week and get it posted. I'll make sure to include lots of shots of that area. My 580 has a tarp on it and I've been working other projects lately. Time to get back to it. I could just put fuel in it and try to start the engine, but I want a few other things set up first. Like an engine oil pressure gauge...they don't come with one of those. But they have a clutch pressure gauge. I'd prefer a a working engine oil gauge over the other one. Also, the radiator is still out because I'm planning how to make a bracket to mount the one-wire alternator instead of the generator....and the power steering pump reservoir needs an o-ring...little stuff but time-takers all the same. I think I can help on the alternator. Mine has a run of the mill Delco. I don't think it's a one wire but it ought to mount up the same as a single wire. It won't run your tach right off the bat but I've seen one or two guys add on the gear set in the back and change the pulley on the alternator so it runs at the proper speed. Take your time on it. I'd certainly want the oil PSI gauge before I even try it.

@@heliarche I was thinking about looking for a bracket for the alternator at an auto wrecking yard and modify it to bolt on to the engine somehow. Otherwise, I'll have to break out the welder and make something. I have one of those little "lunch box" size Chinese welders for stick. But like I say, I've been busy with other things at the moment. I picked up a gauge kit with amp/oil/temp gauges and I have to get them installed.

@@EverydayProjects With everything involved getting ready for winter coming on and the amount of work to make that thing even mobile, it's probably not worth getting into until spring. If somehow you find the time to try and fire it while ensuring that the engine will be sound, it'd be cool to hear it run. The bottom mount bracket, yea that's going to be a little fabrication probably but nothing serious. Mine has a home made mount bolted to what I think is a steering pump. It's made out of 3/16" steel. You'll be doing some drilling and then welding two tabs on to the plate. Your Lunch Box ought to handle it fine. The top adjuster looks to be stock. Just a long flat piece with a long slot to adjust belt tension. Once you're ready to get into it I can take my alternator off and get you some dimensions on the mount if you like but it looks pretty self explanatory.

The transmission on mine, probably yours as well sort of juts up through the floor. This one appears to be completely covered.

LMAO this is so funny because my name is Jim...lol. Im getting to do brakes on my 480f because i have nothing. I was told a line leaks but i not sure where its leaking. The master cyclinders are a joke to get too, i know that.
