Love the simplified DIY headband. I saw somebody sewing them into a text block at a craft fair once and thought I'd have a go. Got into a terrible mess and had to snip it out and never tried again. What I've done today is to use your method with a cloth body and then clamped it between two pieces of wood with the core sticking out and simply stitched around the core. Much easier to do than passing the needle through the signatures an creating the headband on the text block and I can choose my own colours. Once stuck in place they looked, even though I say it myself, pretty impressive so thank you for sowing the seed!
