I just ordered one yesterday from Shepherd Hills It’s a beautiful piece I’ve had Case Knives come with a gap that has closed over time My other Sowbelly is a Case Buffalo Horn I am eager to get mine bc I want a user since I seldom carry the Buffalo Was debating drop or clip today with myself Thanks TK God bless

Never bought a Sowbelly because I only ever seen three bladed ones, I would have got a single blade version if they had been available nice looking knife and I quite like the colour of the handle material though I don't normally go for synthetic covers, it's a risk buying a Case over here as I found out when I bought a Copperhead, but if Rough Ryder bring one out I might pick one up.

Man, I've been longing for a single-bladed sowbelly other than the 'hit the ground running' one (looks good but doesn't seem appropriate as I'm not a military man). This would be my first Kirinite-handled Case knife if I get around to ordering one (doesn't seem to be available from any EU stores yet, and I'm not sure I want to pay another $20-30 for shipping and then add another 21% VAT plus upwards of €5 in administration costs🤑). I really would like to see that Kirinite in person though, looks interesting. Thanks for the review👍

case needs to get their f&f and QC under control. it’s horrific. i got a carbon sodbuster jr and the delrin was chipped, back spring was proud, blade was off center AND bent off to the left from the FACTORY. absolutely ridiculous even at $40. i can get a $12 rough ryder and it’ll be more likely to have better QC. i’m just glad my full size copperlock i picked up wasn’t completely fucked, the copperlock is probably my favorite looking pattern besides maybe a club knife or spear point jack knife.

Keep pointing out those gaps Thrifty. I love Case knives but they have to realize that this shortcoming has to be addressed. My father preached to me as a young boy, “Never rest on your laurels”. Case knives is an historical quality manufacturer. I trust this is just a recent shortcoming for whatever reason vs. a new “Shove it out the door corporate mentality”. Good job as always Thrifty!

I think most of us would say we prefer natural handle materials, but buddy-ro, that's a damn good looking knife. I've also heard a single blade sowbelly referred to as a curved jack.

Hey TK, That’s fantastic, love the colour of those Kirinite covers 👍🏻 Love that pattern, fantastic! I’ve got a 2014 blue Pacific bone version. Has the same slightly off centred blade ( not rubbing) Such a shame that Case’s QC doesn’t pick up the (relatively minor) issues! We know they are more than capable of producing really top notch products, just wish they were more consistent. Another fantastic review, thanks brother 😎👍🏻

Can definitely see the appeal, the scales are very unique to Case and that blade is a beautiful shape. Do like a bit of carbon steel for the whittling/carving but TBH prefer stainless for the more everyday multiuse knives, especially in winter in this country. If you don't do cut test videos and can sharpen a knife it doesn't really matter.
