How well do you think the white micarta will hold up as far as staining and getting dirty and loosing that clean white appearance?
@ElCapAddict2 күн бұрын
Oh, no, Thrifty… not a lanyard😢 Lanyards are for the weirdos. Thanks for the look. A bit different but would you prefer this or Kershaw’s Federalist?

What a beauty full knife, I like me some Case knives. my latest one is a 4165 it's a one bladed hunter in red delrin, it has this shield too. perfectly centered and no gaps, I got it yesterday. I own a small copperlock but I am getting one of these large ones too, I can get them here in the Netherlands .( not banned here).

Great video TK 😁 thanks for sharing 🫡 Great looking knife, and for me the wood handles look so much nicer than the original patterned bone. Maybe one day they will release one in stabilised oak or something similar! 🤞🏻

Such a sucker for a yellow handle case - that looks awesome tho - need to get a bone cover blade

Glad to hear that this one is good quality. I’ve been thinking about buying one. I’ve purchased a couple of other Kershaw knives in recent months, and both turned out to have good build quality. The “Federalist” model which I got recently was a USA-built, though.

I noticed the shield on my knife being off. I was trying to figure out if it was aligned with the sides rathe than the pins or something. Looking at other examples it quickly became clear that is consistent with all the examples I looked at, so at least there is that and not a mistake on the one I got.

This is a really nice knife. Kind of heavy with the copper, of course. I've gotten several Kershaw knives recently and I've been impressed, particularly for the price.

Hey TK, Really like this one ….!!! Wish these were available in the UK…!!! I’ve got the red bone version and black micarta one too…. Both of mine are great examples and l love the size and shape of them… Obviously the D2 version is a better performer in terms of durability, but use and carry both… Really love the copper… definitely look’s classy…😎 Great review… thanks brother 😎👊🏻

Is steel better than brass for the dividers between the blades.. or vice versa?
@ThriftyKaniffy4 күн бұрын
Makes it a bit stronger, yes. Though, brass is a better look in my opinion.

I have a Camillus #89 that I've had since the late 70's and it is made just like it. It has the double brass liners too. I carried it for a long time but it's big and heavy so I put it away years ago. A friend of mine from Florida worked at a Hdw store and they sold them and he brought me one. It's a really good knife.

Looks great, TK. BigRed had both versions of the wood and the yellow sandalwood was the better of the two out of his examples. The wood pitting/grain voids/distressed look is very cool and unique (I don’t recall seeing that on JB’s). I still think I prefer the original covers 🤷♀️ Thanks for sharing!
@ThriftyKaniffy6 күн бұрын
I likem both. I found the dragonsscale to be a bit busy, still like it, but prefer the wood.
