CASE HIT ROOKIE!!!💥 BIG IMPROVEMENTS🚨 2023-24 Donruss Optic Basketball Hobby Box Review

In today's video, I'll be opening and reviewing a hobby box of the brand new 2023-24 Donruss Optic Basketball. These boxes sell for $500-525 a box in store and online. Donruss Optic features a 250 card base set consisting of 200 veterans and 50 Rated Rookie cards. Each box contains 20 4-card packs. Expect to find 1 autograph and 20 inserts or parallels per box on average. Look for Holo, Jazz, and Photon non-numbered cards. Serial parallels to find include Aqua(#(#'d/249), Orange(#'d/199), Lime Green(#'d/149), Red(#'d/99), Pink Velocity(#'d/79), Blue(#'d/49), Black Velocity(#'d/39), Gold(#'d/10), Green(#'d/5), and Gold Vinyl(1-of-1's). Chase an array of autographs headlined by the new Rookie Dual Signatures, as well as on card Rated Rookie Signatures. Insert include hobby only sets such as Rookie Dominators, Lights Out, Raining 3s, and The Rookies, and new inserts in Rising Suns and Red Hot Rookies. For the first time in Donruss Optic basketball history, it gets two case hit inserts to chase in Slammy! and Alter Ego. Optic highlights the new rookie class of Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, Brandon Miller, Keyonte George, Jamie Jaquez, and Ausar and Amen Thompson.

🃏🃏🃏 for FUN FACTOR: There's a little more juice in hobby than retail when going for Wemby rookie cards. The ceiling is upper atmosphere, and if you squint hard enough you can see it. Add in new case hit inserts for the first time in Optic basketball history, and it's a grand ole time!
🃏🃏 for VALUE: The Wemby Effect is in full force. That's reflected in the price tag. Historically, Optic hobby comes in around $300. Wemby and the new case hits have nearly doubled that price. Optic has always been a bit tough to hit on, and that makes opening a box a lot dicier.
🃏🃏🃏 for DESIGN/FORMAT: Solid and approaching fantastic. Not to beat a dead horse, but the new case hits add something Optic basketball has never had. That's a major plus. You better like inserts though because Optic, as it always has, gives you them in spades.
🃏🃏🃏 for COLLECTABILITY: Rated Rookie...check. The big question is how well Slammy! and Alter Ego will land with collectors.

I agree with the inserts being much better in the holo version vs base versions. At least you get a lot of cards like you said too. Not a fan of the Slammy's either.

Getting a case hit!🥳 Having it be a rookie you don't want... 🤢. Reminds me of my trey lance rookie portraits I pulled in 2021. No Wembys at all? I bet they are more common in blasters than hobby. Nobody ever compares the way panini seems to separate BASE cards between hobby/fotl/retail blasters/mega/hangers.... they aren't even. Not even close.
