Mperfection49 beautiful tractor, but the reason why I like 2 tracks is because they are much more simpler to maintain parts, and you don’t have to worry about the compaction of a wheeled articulated tractor

people that say they dont think these tractors are better then 2 tracks or tired tractors really have obviously never driven it because if u have driven a quadtrac you would never want to drive anything else.they effortlessly pull larger impliments in wet conditions burning less fuel with no ground slippage.u get into wet ground and try and turn with a two tract system you loose almost half your traction because one track has to spin faster while the other slows and almost stopps.these quadtracks are the king and you better drive one before you attempt saying its no good.cause if u did drive one you would never say that

evan c I can also say that in sloppy paddocks these things bury themselves extremely well, and cant get out until its dry again. Twin tracks might not have all your claimed advantages, but I have never seen one stay bogged for more than a day.

2 long tracks are designed for pushing, like a dozer with a blade, the angles of force when pulling cause the long track to "heel". With the 4 wheels or tracks the tractor is normally front heavy so when you start pulling there is equal weight on both the front and back. Plus there are issues of breaking traction in steering with the longer track machines. The track has a smoother ride in the field but are more expensive and obviously more moving parts than a tire. So my opinion, 4 is better than two, but I would rather have triples or larger duals.

Idlers aren't going to run down plants. The point is for the contact area to be between the rows. I guess if you want to use 36 inch tracks to say sidedress corn you can... But I wouldn't recommend it...

@@crazytrucker9526 yep the funny thing is my dad personally knows a guy that is 99% john deere, but even with the 9rxs out he bought a case quad. And i commonly see case quads for sale with john deere auto steer showing that person was mostly john deere but liked the case quad moere

Why do the lower horsepower Steiger rowtracs have a larger drive wheel than the higher horsepower quadtracs? Why not use the bigger drive wheel on both versions. I know the lugs on the rowtrac are smaller but the quadtrac is putting out a lot more horsepower.
