I have this pattern in cv from 1964, blades are worn narrow. I like it a lot because it's a little larger and easier to grab than the peanut but still small enough for my watch pocket.

Ahhh, a diamond back Whittler! Always meant to get one but got a split back Whittler first, it's one of my favourite knives (it's on the coffee table now) fantastic QC, main blade sharpens up easily and very well. I do like the novelty of your test pattern knife and it's nicely made, very nice scales too.

Nice overview and thanks for the size comparison. I knew it was a smaller knife but nice to see against the other knives. I am also waiting on the cv version, I will be picking up a couple this year.

I got 6 copperhead last year and 3 had to be sent back to case because they were the bad

That is actually a 2022 tang stamp.

I got mine from SMKW in 1095 cs, in burlap micarta. It's a really good size and doesn't move around a lot in my pocket.

the blades do not have a pointy tip = fail, case is infamous for blunt tips . and their 420 stainless is a lesser quality steel

I picked up a 1981 version of this knife (6225 1/2 SR) in smooth satin rose bone. The condition is as new and the fit and finish is absolutely superb. It is a beautiful little knife. I haven't seen any other satin rose Case knives here in the UK. Have you any idea of the value. I don't want to sell it.......I'm just curious.

I've heard the rumor that Case's Vault patterns have to best QC, it's just their production lines have been waning. 🤔

This parrern has alot of similarities to the 2021 pattern "the copperhead". The clip blade and pen blade on a jack knife frame. But the copperhead is a little bigger with a bolster covering the edges of the of exposed blade material. Personally I prefer the copperhead for carving and user-friendly tasks.

Will case fix or replace a bad quality control knife, or act like it's fine even though it looks like shit.

Nice knife, I like case knives, however, it seems that they are focusing much on smaller knives and I like to use a bigger more substantial knife as an EDC especially if I'm going to pay good money for it.

I only buy pre-1975 Case knives. Quality control slowly but steadily went to garbage after that
