Vertical stripes are supposed to make you look slimmer. The Maen Manhatten has vertical stripes. Ergo, wearing this watch should make dieting unnecessary. Would wearing one on both wrists make you look twice as slim? Great video and lovely watch. Good luck with the book. 👍

Man I’ve been looking for a review since I got the announcement email…first time noticing the lack of seconds hand. Is there a point of a mechanical movement without that? Kinda ruins it for me. Might as well have gone quartz and made it a mm or two thinner.

Its a unique look that's original in the integrated bracelet segment and it uses a thin movement to keep it more svelte and in line with the original Royal Oak and *3700. I like it. I also hope down the road they put a small seconds on the dial, the movement has a small seconds after all and it would look especially good if they offset it.

Beautiful! The only challenge I see is a hand-wound movement with no seconds hand. How easy would it be to have the watch die on you without knowing…

The production will have an open caseback so you could flip it over and see but I suppose you would want to make sure its fully wound before putting it on unless you want to look at the movement periodically. I don't mind it.

Nice vid again Tim but not a watch I find appealing....I do like the size though....saying that I'd go for the Mido TV big date if they could only sort out the mechanism..Same sort of price too and I prefer the horizontally striped dial to the vertical of the Maen.Have a great day.

A seconds hand would make the whole Manhattan 39 less slim (change of calibre), so not ultra thin anymore, and certainly less charming.
