Veronica Knight is particularly heartbreaking. Mother dies when she’s a baby, alcoholic dad turns her over to the state to be raised in foster homes, the door opens at age 18 and out she’s sent. Rather than going to the streets and getting into trouble, she finds a boarding house, goes to church and works part-time. A nice young, married couple take her under their wing and she saves up her money to go see them in their new place. There was a bright future ahead for this young woman of such resilience and drive and wanting better for herself. Hadn’t life been tough enough for her, already?

So I suppose if she had ended up in sex work or addicted to drugs, she would deserve what happened? I guess because she went to church and worked 20 hours a week, she deserves to live more than some “bad” woman, right? Do people like you ever think before you comment?

Sometimes those visual aids just take away the deep focus needed to really let the crimes sink in with a direct imput into ones brain Ive seen some cases covered by Casefiles that others have also done but with photos, film clips, written info, yet the crux of the cases never becomes so apparent as it does with Casefiles version Even when you think you know a case backwards, it never fully comes to life, nor do you gain so much more relevant information As when a case is given the Casefiles treatment. I have lived in Adelaide all my life, 57 years. Our city once had the reputation for the sickest crimes. A couple of years after Truro, a girl named Kerry Ann Friday was killed. The word at our local pub was she was taken from the Producers Hotel, killed and raped, and then later put in a hot bath to be made suitable to rape again. I think someone said it happened at HA clubhouse. Probably stupid rumours to frighten us young girls at the time. Nevertheless, I've never been able to find any info on this case. Perhaps 'Casefile ' would have more luck.

What a bizarre story, a gay man riding along with a hetero/bisexual man who kills girls in the span of a few weeks. If the deaths stopped. After the death then that says something. Doesn't it hard to know. The truth he loved that man. We as women have got to be more careful. Then to go with guys. The details go to a vacant house. They said that to her. She still went with them. Families in these stories. Sometimes are beyond shocking knowing. A loved one is missing. Wait to do anything not speak out. Wow
@carriefawcett9990 Жыл бұрын
Why are you blaming victims? Your grammar and spelling sucks too.
@Fallen_Venus Жыл бұрын
Absolutely appalling his friend went along with the picking up of women and staying silent about the rapes and murders. Of course the victims are not to blame, but the journalist made a general point I agree with to an extent. Women have the right to live their lives as they choose but there ARE evil men and opportunists out there, so if you are reckless, then you are more likely to run into their path. It is not victim blaming. It's just being aware of the potential dangers lurking and taking care of yourself and your friends that you are out with. All the protesting about women's rights and freedom won't protect women from perpetrators when theyte in risky situations. You lock your car doors and take out insurance for theft, yet women get drunk, take drugs and make themselves vulnerable. This is a general comment. It doesn't necessarily reflect on the poor women who lost their lives in this article. Julie's mother has it right. She sees the reality of this world as opposed to this woke movement which if anything, promotes putting women in danger and not being vigilant to dangers...
@joannecoyne3892 Жыл бұрын
Maybe stop men from stalking and raping..you know..blame them
@carriefawcett9990 Жыл бұрын
That's all well.and good, but as long as there are dangerous men, it doesn't make a fuck of difference what women do or don't do to protect themselves. Look at Stephanie Scott, she was at a school, her workplace, preparing lessons when she was raped and murdered. What should she have done differently? Same with a young lady in Victoria who was murdered in her own bed by a guy she met at work, she was nice to him so he stalked, and killed her. What should she have done differently? Your logic is shit. We already know that hitch-hiking is never a good idea for anyone, we know that. So why make that the focus of your comment? I guess you think this could never happen to you right? You do things differently than these victims, right? Think again. As long as there are violent men out there, this can happen to anyone. So , yes, you are victim blaming and it looks short sighted and unintelligent.
@buk3907 ай бұрын

They are not ‘portraying’ him. They are giving HIS version, and the Court dealt with that. It was a twisted kind of love, but that is his story, not the narrator’s.
