I sure miss American top 40 with Casey Kasem. Hearing his voice counting the songs down is something that made life great growing up in the 90s. RIP Casey, may you never be forgotten and always be appreciated for all the great memories

Thank you for 39 memorable years of teaching us how to count from 1-40....in reverse. We miss you Casey!!!!

Happy 90th birthday, Casey! Hope you have a great celebration in heaven, and it was a great pleasure to meet you in 2006. Thank you for making that day so special for me, and I’m thankful we had the opportunity to keep in touch on a frequent basis. Waking up every Sunday morning and listening to your show was something I loved doing for many years, and I appreciate how you’re one of the reasons why I’m the DJ I am today through the friendship I had with you and what you always told everyone to do at the end of your show. “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!”

I wish there were more recordings kept from his last years. But thank you for posting this! I found out at Shinedown's show last year that they were the last #1 he announced and it brought tears to my eyes bc they're my favorite band!

More importantly it was the perfect song to close out his countdown after being there for 4 decades! Casey Kasen was a big inspiration, that song by Shinedown changed their lives forever!

I grew up with Casey during my high school and college days back in the late 70s and throughout the 80's, he's been very much part of my during those good times and bad times, and it's really very nostalgic listening back to those broadcasts, thank you very much for sharing and as Casey had always said "keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars", you are now part of the stars we will look up to, thanks again Casey

Thank you for posting this. Casey is like Paul Harvey for Music. Amazing his last two songs are about saying goodbye in some manner.

I had to see if Paul is still with us after flashing back to the days of hearing him and his “rest of the story” segments on radio out of Morgantown , WV (don’t remember the station) while being at West Virginia Wesleyan in early 90s. Sadly I see he passed Feb 28, 2009 at 90. Paul was a good one.

I miss hearing Casey Kasem AT 40 especially from 1970 to 1976, my Junior High School and High School years...they take me down roads I traveled during those years. Great memories, Great Music, and course listening Casey Kasem talking about the Music and Artist. I still listen to rebroadcast of Casey Kasem especially during the 1970 to 1976 years

I just realized something. The AT20 theme and jingles in this recording were debuted all the way back in early '98, surpassing Shuckatoom for the longest running jingles on a Casey Kasem show. But unlike Shuckatoom, the AT20 theme and jingles did not age so poorly and could've stayed on the show at least three more years.

His voice sounded so weak and tired on this final broadcast. A shell of its former self. Rest in peace Casey you are definitely one of a kind and will always be cherished.

Nobody will ever be able to replace him. Dick Clark couldn’t shadow Stevens, Rick Dees, Ryan Seacrest. No one can hold a candle to him. He was definitely one of a kind and the best to ever do it.
