I remember sitting in front of my radio in the early 80's as a kid listening to these very shows on Sunday morning. I would record them on cassette and then desperately try to do my best impersonation of Casey Kasem counting down the week's hottest hits. I miss those days when music was still fun and creative. Today's music is dead.

My friends and family knew not to disturb me every sunday from 8am until noon because of AT40 and Casey. it was my routine from around the late 70's to the early 90's.

How i miss those old days. I was 18 and studied in Lancaster, England in 1985. My days were mesmerised by memorable songs and Casey Kasem. The songs had typical musical vibes sung by Peter Cetera, Rah Band, Reo Speedwagon ....

wow! no escuchaba esto desde hace décadas. la pasaban en FM local. en Inglés y traducida. me encantaba Casey !!!! que nostalgia. no me o perdía por nada del mundo. y hasta hacía mis anotaciones en un cuaderno donde tomaba nota de los artistas que me gustaban y si podía, salía a comprar mi vinilo.

Sunday afternoon is always AT40 with Casey Kasem regardless at home, car or in a mall. Yeah.....What a Flashback. No internet in those days so we don't know what Casey looks like. We only recognize his voice through the FM radio 99.5RT

9:56 Back when I was a teen in Winnipeg, I listened to AT40 on CFRW, possibly the last happening AM station in Winnipeg, if not the world. In May 1987, it switched to oldies 1290 FOX and wouldn't play the countdowns! Its FM sister station Q94 did, but only for a few weeks. This was the LAST #1 song from a countdown Q94 played!

I always thought that Deb Allen had the perfect demo voice for her songs. RIP, Paul Davis. Saw a picture of Bob Seger with a cigarette in his mouth, I wonder if he's quit since then. I can picture Cyndi Lauper pickin' out 'All through the night' on her trombone.ELO knows 'Rock n roll is king'. Love Alabama's guest shot on Brad Paisley's 'Old Alabama'. Rip, Marvin Gaye. Vh1's first played video was Marvin Gaye, but it was a New Years' 1984 live performance of the STar Spangled Banner. One 1980-Summer 1988 song was never played on AT40: We're ALl Clones by ALice Cooper. Casey did a special AT40 the one week it peaked at #40 on 7/5/80.

0:10 Oh yeah. It reminds me that country was still hitting the Top 40 in the early-80's. Then the MTV revolution happened and there was like this practical complete divorce of country music from the Top 40 for years!
