One Sunday, I was driving across America as I was a young troop in the USAF going from one base to my new one and came across American Top 40, 3 separate times on the radio that day over a 12 hour period. I was feeling pretty homesick when the day started out, but having Casey Kasem for nearly that entire day, was like having an old friend riding along. Made it all so much better. Thanks Casey.

Why thank you very much VNV Girl for your kind words about my service and I so agree that Casey's voice made all the difference that day and for so many millions of others through the decades.

Everytime I play your AT40 mixes, it bring backs memories. This opener reminds me of a song I wanted to buy because it was too cool for Winnipeg radio to play! I even bought the twelve-inch single... for $13!

R.I.P. Casey I'll always miss hearing your voice on Z100 NY every Sunday morning. Those were the best times growing up as a teenager. We could always revisit that time in our lives. Great Memories to be treasured forever.

I've started listening to the broadcasts online Sunday nights on 102.7 JACK FM out of Baltimore - so that's why these sound familiar. :) Thanks again so much for sharing! Thanks also for not just choosing the obvious hits to highlight... Company B, Deborah Allen and Stacy Lattislaw deserve to be remembered as much as Madonna, Cyndi, Culture Club, Bruce etc. do.
