The title is self explanatory. Whoever views this video, enjoy (and I hope the memories come back). Long Live 1970's Radio!

Casey had a rich, buttery tone to his voice. I listened to the A.T. 40 with Casey's voice as he "counted down the most popular songs in America". It became a past time of mine from 1987 until my College years in the mid-1990s. He was the biggest reason I became such a pop music fan. May Uncle Casey R.I.P. 💖

Man this harkens back to my AM radio days when I was a part-time DJ while in college. In fact, I always began my Sunday shift by playing AT40. Upside was the final 2 hours of my show usually captured top ratings in the market, thanks to Casey.

Good Day My Birthday when this was Aired. I have the original issue LP. I heard the entire countdown 2 Years ago as a re-Airing of this original program. I recall listening to this as a new program back in the 1980's. I would have heard a few of the (late) 1970's ones but don't recall them anymore. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks ... sure brings back the goose bumps! And I thought I was a nut case to have sat next to the Redifussion Box every week copying down the top 40 hits and then listen to Casey signing off 4 hours later ... Keep your feet on the ground ...

Thank you Casey for everything you did for soooo long !! I’ve heard countless countdowns way back from when you started in July of 1970 !! Now you are no longer here with us in person but you’re countdown is still going strong on satellite radio on weekends across the land and I listen to the A Top 40 each and every Sunday morning on Sirius xm 70s on 7 and thoroughly enjoy going down memory lane with you ❤️

Ha ha, they didn't beat up "poor Leo" for grabbing the mike away; they beat him up for singing like he was castrated! He got better, though. "You Make Me Feel Like Dancin'" was like fingernails on a blackboard, but I actually bought "How Much Love". :-/ As for CK, it was KJR Seattle Channel 95 back in the day where I lived!

Does anyone have a recording of Casey at WTAC AM 600 in Flint, MI in the 60's?
@bobjersey3 жыл бұрын
You swiped that from a Premiere Radio re-release of this episode (else the "Shuckatoom" theme would have played to the end)

Correct me if I'm wrong but "When I Need You" was played after "Sir Duke" a tribute to Duke Ellington.
