Totally agree that I really liked the start by Mize. Your analysis is spot on. He was very inefficient, he had some poor pitches, but you also saw him throw real ML pitches. He showed a FB, a slider and a splitter that all looked like potential ML pitches. He has a ton of work, but there was something in this game, I did not see any pitches in his previous few games that had any chase to them..

The triple play was little league stuff and even they would be disappointed. And Malloy should be sent down to make major changes- hes overmatched. Mckinstry and Kreidler DFA'd. Malloy is a classic example of a hitter that can track the baseball very well- meaning he picks up the pitchers release and spin very well -identifying the pitch type but lacks the batspeed to hit high velocity. He often ends up guessing the pitch instead of using his I.D ability because its the only way he can hit high velocity- he has to guess 95 to hit 95 which means hes toast until he alters his mechanics. As for beau Brieske being used in low leverage situations - Hinch does this as a publicity stunt to show he hasnt given up on the game. And ho about Hinchs quote on triple play- Hinch said Mckinstry ran hard to the plate ! lol.

Does it get any worse for a team then having the SS position get worse when Javy is not available? The SS position in this organization is so bad, we have no prospect above low A. We draft few SS's and Graham was a total wasted pick and Kreidler is not a ML player. We spend most of our international money on SS prospects, but none of them ever get out of low A, wasn't Christian Santana supposed to be a top 10 prospect? Our only chance is McGonigle, Tigers need to work hard to develop him into a ML SS.

Tigers have a lot of guys whose hype hasn’t come close to fruition, other teams have the same problem a change of scenery for some might be needed. Maybe a package of three or four like Manning, Wenz, Baddoo and maybe even Tork for a similar group of underachievers from another team. You might just run into something, it’s better than what they’ve been doing. Think outside the box.

What’s funny about the explosion game against the whitesox is that if you exclude the first 3 outs the tigers and whitesox scored 2-2 in the last 24 outs. So it wasn’t even a good game it was a good inning and a half😂like after that run scoring a 9.8 ERA reliever came in and shoved and gave up 2 runs the rest of the game lol

This odd move of giving Flaherty an extra day of rest seems to me like the Tigers are crossing their fingers and hoping to win the Skubal game and then punting the last game of the series.

Strikeouts is not the ulimate goal or barometer of a pitcher it involves your teams defense your offense. Even as a pitcher you need be aware of your own faculties of your fitness stuff like that. Nolan ryan struck out many batters but he doesnt have tbe most elite winning percentage for the type of pitcher in his velocity . I would be more happier if mize would win games keeping baserunners in check than his stilkeout count shit he could have 27 stikeouts and still lose

It all began with an ugly error and then the Phillies pounced on opportunity. No counter-punch, just surrender. Between now and the upcoming winters, keep this game handy as a reference guide for building a better baseball team.

Same thing should be said about the 7-0 loss to Atlanta. They pounced every time we gave them a free pass or an extra out.

That smirk that McKinstry had after the Error and being part of the triple play. Like he was laughing looks like a clown. The Tigers are the new lions of Detroit. The Mud Hens lost 10 in row. The whole organisation is a mess.
