Thanks for including the practice media with your tutorial. It makes your video UNIQUE and the MOST EFFECTIVE tutorial on KZbin. It's because from my experience, watching a video editing tutorial without practice footage is like reading a book. After that, I have the knowledge but I still can't edit videos on my own.

I think at 2:06:20 instead of going back one frame to disable the corrector 5 for the purple bright effect of the swors you went to the first frame of the clip, i came back here after watching the end result and you can see the corrector 5 appearing before the swords clash, so whoever is following this should be able to see it and fix it by themselves, amazing course !! Gonna go check the advanced course with the more complicated clip that you left out in this one now xD

I absolutely LOVE this course. Been using Resolve for a while, but only for editing videos, and doing some rescaling and layers. Whit THIS, I have SO many ideas that will make my workflow so much easier. I don't see that you have released the video for the "TONS OF WORK" clip of this video. I think I might have learned enough in this and some other videos to do most of the work, but it would be great to see how you did it also. What happened at 51:06? The nodes change and get rearranged???
@tyronehardnett68142 ай бұрын
Yup nodes change with no explaination or instruction and also I'm only able to see one tie fighter at a time in the preview window so I can't even continue. Got half way through and now i'm stuck.
@drugmate971014 күн бұрын
@@tyronehardnett6814 I think he just gave up on the multimerge and decided to use individual merges instead. I found that multimerge can be a bit clunky to use when you want to keyframe stuff and you cannot connect a new merge node to it as easily as you can with other nodes, you have to manually place a merge node into the node tree. He also added paint after the original tie fighter image, but messed with it a minute later in the video so you didn't miss anything.

I'm going through this and am only halfway through as I am commenting, but I felt it necessary... in the clip we work on the reflection, the reflection we put in is flipped. I don't know but.. I feel like after effects special effects like this look so much better. I don't know if its fusion or just if fusion is much more complicated and needs much much more work to get the more realistic look after effects can achieve. I remember watching Andrew Kramer tutorials on light sabers and similar effects from years ago and the effects just looked so much more realistic. I've always felt this way after seeing fusion special effects tutorials.

My major gripes with waveform editing in Resolve. 1. When you in and out a clip in the preview window - that section is not highlighted with a different colour or luminance like Premiere. 2 -the waveform at the top of the preview monitor isn't at all accurate with where the cursor is in the file. Sometimes it even displays a glitched waveform.

I'm following along, but stuck at the fusion step of adding the mountains and radar. I've rebuilt the node graph along with you 5 times and every time I'm getting the same issue. the mountain and radar plates aren't sticking to the trees with the planar transform. they're shifting in parallax. literally every setting is the same. what's going on?
@CaseyFaris8 ай бұрын
Did you check the box that says "scale to input" on the planar transform?
@StuartHetzler8 ай бұрын
@@CaseyFaris Yes. If I check it, nothing transforms correctly. If I uncheck it, I find a text node transforms correctly, but the radar and mountains still don't. I got it working now, but I did still have to do the old 'merge over a background' trick. Shouldn't the tickbox have fixed that problem?
@Corinne_Bou8 ай бұрын
@@StuartHetzler Hi Stuart, could you please shortly explain the "merge over background" trick? I use V18.6 and I don't want to install the beta version of a program I don't master yet :-) Hence I would also need a workaround for the parallax problem.
