To answer some questions… The reason I use a suction hose in the top of the tank instead of connecting the pump to the bottom valve is so that if needed, I can pull up to a water source and throw the suction hose right into it to refill the tank. The hose has a check valve on the end so that once it’s primed, it stays primed until I disconnect it from the pump and drain the water out of it for winter. We have lots of cattle watering stations around here, and many people have cisterns on their properties. And second, I didn’t “call out Paul”, I simply said that I don’t need the help of someone a thousand miles away every time I need to weld something when I myself an a welder. I get a pile of those comments literally every single time I weld or build anything. Like I said, don’t know the guy and have nothing against the guy, but if I do need help with something, there’s plenty of people a hell of a lot closer who I actually do know that I’m going to see long before I try to get help from someone in a completely different state. But yes, I absolutely did make a little joke about Heavy D’s videos basically being one big commercial. And I did that because Heavy D’s videos are basically just one big commercial

I live in rural Tennessee (Yes, it can be hot and humid here) and am surrounded by hundreds of acres of deciduous hardwoods and we too have a fire season. I have been looking into some sort of fire protection system but that dinky tank just wouldn't cut it here. When I lived in SW Montana I knew a guy who had a buried, well fed, 700 gallon plastic septic tank he used for home defense. I'm looking at that option with a more reliable dual gas/electric pump.

Looks very capable Casey, I hope you never need it! I don't have your particular health issues, but heat is a problem for me too. It can really aggravate my own problems, and certainly earns me some bonus level Grumpy Points. But in a few short months, fluffy rain season will be back, and I will be filled with a great and selective nostalgia for warmer days while I'm taking the snowblower for another walk, or doing one of my graceful modern dance interpretations displaying the complex love triangle between traction, gravity and ice that inevitably culminates in a dramatic pose as I return to a closer relationship with the Earth. For those that did not pick up a program on the way in...it's the slippy dance I do on ice just before I fall on my butt. 👍

Been there, done that just can't describe it nearly as poetically. It hurts too much if I fall. Last winter the paper was thrown onto the driveway and there was already snow on the ground. I decided that it was not important enough to risk falling outside in the snow and cold to get the paper. It was still there when it was safe to go out and get it after the temperature came up and was not slick. All comes down to risk assessment and yesterday's news was not worth it.

Casey I like your fire trailer set up. I was very fortunate to have had a wonderful career as a firefighter. One of the things I was involved in was upgrading and implementing changes to our fire departments wildland program. We were very fortunate to have lots of resources, ie. money and so we could buy and try out a bunch of different wildland equipment and gear and like you we spent weeks with Cal Fire on the line and in their schools like Fort Hunter Liggett and in Costa County where they both do controlled burns on huge military training grounds. We even got to help do some of the testing for the newer fire shelters that the brother of one of the wildland firefighters who was killed on Storm King mountain helped developed. We were also involved in bringing some of the awesome training from Cal Fire to Oregon by helping to develop and put on the Central Oregon Wildfire school (COW's)... I do have a couple of small suggestions for your wildland trailer. Since water is such a premium we found that adding a shut off bale before your nozzle can help save water and time by not have to dial the nozzle open and closed everytime you use it and you can leave it preset on whatever spray pattern you want. Second I would suggest you make a hose line to the length needed to spray from the cab for fast running grass fires... I've learned several things from watching your channel. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your life with the rest of us👍😊...

I must admit that I picked up on your channel from some of the others. Honestly, I never opened KZbin just to see if you had a new episode posted. I am a subscriber but if the thumbnail and leader comment didn't interest me, I might pass by for other channels. That changed today. Not that I didn't previously have respect for you and what you do (I do), but your comments to the YT audience was more than refreshing. Before I watched to see what you were doing, from now on I will watch to also hear what you have to say. I know it's a fine line you have to walk with subscribers, potential sponsors, etc., but if you have the courage to stand up for what you think, that is actually more important to me than everything else. And my thoughts on you having product support with Harbor Freight? Where do I sign up LOL. I haven't bought a tool from anywhere else in almost 15 years (not including specialty tools). Would I rather support a company selling American made products? Yes, but I can't afford them and still put food on the table. Should you make a video about sponsors and YT for profit. Only if it will make you feel better. There are plenty out there and if anyone wanted to know (I did, and well, yeah) they can go look at someone that likes to rain on parades. You stick to you and what you are and what you do. That is what got me watching your channel. Not sponsors. I did find you from another YT channel but I have stayed because of the content you provide. And now I will continue to stay because you want to keep it all real. That's not popular, but I love it!

I think the reason everyone gets lumped together is because people think just because you are on "KZbin" and someone else is that you know each other. I know channels that do collaborations; for example Cleetus McFarlane and his inviting other KZbinrs to join in a race. People just assume everyone knows everyone and make comments based on that thinking, however impractical it might be. You are in Oregon, not Utah or California or Tennessee. I liken watching a channel to eating at a restaurant; if I don't like it, I just don't go back. Well, I keep coming back because NO ONE is as good at being Casey Ladelle as you are. I hope you come back down for Matt’s “world’s biggest wrecker” reveal, whenever that happens. You had a part in it and it would be fun to see you here. You keep doing you, because that’s why we come here, that’s what we enjoy, and let all of the other stuff roll. Shovels, rakes, and implements of destruction. It's very cool to see candor and honesty on youtube. That people can have an opinion based on actual experience, not just because a company pays them to read a speech. It's even more cool when you say 'this isn't sponsored, I bought this' and then you show that it's pretty darned solid. Like that HF water pump. You said 'haven't started this since last year' and it pops over on the first pull. I've got a lawn mower that I can't get to turn over on a first pull even using it weekly. Seeing a 2 stroke turn over at first pull makes me want to know more, which means I look forward to see more videos on this channel. I'm with ya on the high temps! Here in Indiana, we also get high humidity, so it's a double-whammy. What if you had a quick-connect and a valve on the metal hose and tee into the suction port at the bottom of the tank? Then it could fill the tank while at the same time priming the pump. Just a thought. It's how guys do less work and still get it done. Heck, if it works out, you'll be back inside even sooner!

Good video. Good attitude. The multi-million sub channels in the genre have big plant eye-candy to hook viewers, they're designed to be great entertainment and often they do good. But your problem-solving skills keep your channel flying straight and entertaining too. A lot of us who came up from being farm kids needed to be skilled in a whole bunch of things, whereas bigger businesses have whole departments that deal with different kinds of problems, and so are kind of insulated from the risk element. Your fire department is your water truck. Keep up the good work.

Those that have almost lost a lot due to a quickly spreading fire, know exactly why you have a trailer prepared. Sometimes 5 minutes makes the difference between huge losses and no big deal, when the fire department is 15-20 minutes away. Yes on sponsorship video details. I have noted that every youtube contributor worth his salt gets "helpful" comments. Also noted is that those contributors that push back on the comments, get even more comments, but less friendly. Matt of MORR in the last month has started using humorous sarcasm to deal with this. When someone tells him something obvious or ridiculous, he thanks them for their help and tells them that he would have completely missed the issue if not for the amazing help. I'm loving it! Good luck to you Sir, and may you never need your fire trailer.

I've had the pressure washer for years and didn't know that and it still works fine, but it does say it in the manual - so I zip-tied my handle on the wand to be on the "on" position all the time. Seems that they have a script that is choreographed for them, and oh yeah waaaay too commercialized in many ways. One channel that you mentioned really turned me off, seems to me that they had used a case of a missing young man for content of their channel as they came rushing in with a Helicopter and cameras to make drama for their own personal gain. @@bigpaugh the large intestine is the main organ your body uses to absorb fluids, so without that it’s very hard to stay properly hydrated in the heat. Missing a kidney I imagine would compound that as well. A trick I was taught was to eat foods like bread or chips before drinking water to basically create a sponge that the water soaks into. Then when the small intestine tries to absorbs whatever nutrients it can out of the food, it absorbs more of the fluids as well. If you drink water on an empty stomach, the small intestine just passes the fluid on to the large intestine since that’s it’s job, but when the large intestine isn’t there or isn’t fully functional, that obviously becomes a problem when it comes to hydration
