Honestly, those firefighters sacrificed themselves so they could save as many people as they could. They put their own lives on the line, running into the towers, with no regard for their own life, and only good will in their hearts. RIP to those killed in the attacks

Look into the conspiracy theories, some of them are pretty convincing, it makes it look way worse. Or try watching the footing of the attacks and see the people jumping from the building, to get away from the inevitable fiery death that was coming for them.

I was with my great grandfather. He was a war veteran and he knew what it was when he saw the 2nd plane. He sat me on his lap and what he said may help some others reading my comment. He said ," There is true evil in this world. The important thing is how you respond to it. You can fight with violence , which leads only to more hate and a new form of evil. Or you can push through this life and fight it by spreading love. Love is the true way to battle evil. "

My family and I lost a close friend that day. We visit his memorial here at my dad's office in Australia. I don't normally tell this story but. On September 11, 2001. Andrew was at work (in the twin towers). His wife called him, wanting to make dinner plans I'm pretty sure. They were on the phone. His wife was able to see the towers clearly from the building she was in. Suddenly everything changed for the worst. She saw everything. She heard everything. The plane had struck the tower and it was up in flames. She could still hear Andrew. But then the line cut. She lost the connection. I don't know what their last words were to each other. But what happened is something I never want to happen again. My dad cries every Sep. 11. It's hard. My dad told me the story of what happened as soon as I was old enough to partly understand. ,She didn't deserve to lose him and he didn't deserve to die like that! No one did. I hate this world sometimes. Andrew

GiladPellaeon Same for me, I was in Italy, 10 years old, just finished lunch watching Dragon Ball on tv when braking news goes in. I don't have great memory for many past things, but that moment is still so vivid in my mind.

GiladPellaeon Same, I was 11. Was in a shop, buying some pencils after school, and heard something on the radio about the towers and didn't think anything of it. Then I got home and my brother was just standing, fixed to the news. Remember the horror of seeing the second plane hit and knowing it wasn't an accident.
@touchwave9 жыл бұрын
I also remember it quite well. But my reaction was vastly different to others. I was 8 years old, came back from school and I was prepared to watch cartoons, dragon balls etc. But instead of cartoons, all I saw was that something happend somewhere, all the channels were showing the same thing. So I got really upset and turned off TV, because bothing interesting was showing. When I was that little I didn't really understood what was going on to add to that, I'm nowhere near America. I now really regret not watching it, back when it was live.

Believe what you want but you're just asking for an argument with that statement and I hardly think this is the time or the place. Casey is an artist, he knows what plays on our emotions. perfect example: The opening scene is of his wife's dog playing with a little toy dog, thats it, no music or anything over the top. so simple, yet the video is about the worst day in the 21st century for America. the contrast of having something so innocent and happy be followed by a story of horror leaving the audience with nothing to say is brilliant contrast. He has a fantastic talent, even when telling a story we have heard before, he finds new ways to tell it.

@@knockeledup I dont know of you would understand this or not, but in america, sometimes people grill foods like certain meats, that may take hours to finish. So by the time the meats are done, the steakout begins!
@knockeledup Жыл бұрын
@@firefighter_731 That sounds more like smoking or barbecuing than grilling! Grilling is to cook over a hot open fire so if you did that for hours you’d have lumps of char remaining. Barbecuing and grilling happen at a much lower temperature and can take hours to complete. I don’t know if you’d understand this or not, but sometimes in America we get specific about the way we cook our meats!

Great video, thank you so much for sharing. On Sept. 11th I was living in South Georgia, I was a pharmaceutical rep and I was 38 weeks pregnant. My partner and I were taking lunch to a cardiology group that day and we sat at the lunch with the doctors and nurses, just glued to the television, with our jaws gaped wide open and tears running down our faces, even the doctors. We did not personally know anyone that was in NYC, but we were just devastated and so incredibly sad for the people involved and their families. At about 1 that afternoon, the pharmaceutical company I was working for sent out a message nationwide for every rep to go home, they had a lot of reps in NYC and traveling and they needed to start doing a headcount to make sure everyone was home safe. I went and picked up my children early from school, I needed them right beside me that afternoon. My precious daughter was born 15 days later. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to actually have been right there when it was happening, I know you must have been terrified. You are very brave to share your story. Thank you!!

I was in 2nd grade when this happened. I remember the principal and everyone from the office going classroom to classroom talking to the teachers and having them explain to us what had happened. One of my friends left early from class bc her uncle had been in one of the towers. She didn’t come back until about a month later. It’s been years later and every year on this day I remember her and just how chilling it was going back home and seeing it on the news with my parents. This year, my cousin who is 14 and started high school said they had this in one of her history worksheets and asked me if I remember that day since she wasn’t born until 2004 I believe. It’s weird but interesting to see how kids now are learning about this in books or through word of mouth while I having been alive at the time saw the impact it had on a fellow friend.

I was a military policeman who responded to the Pentagon on 9/11 and think that I sort of understand the feelings you had that day. My heart poured out to New Yorkers during that time. I was so busy during that time and sleeping so little, that it was several weeks before I could process what had occurred; when I finally did, it was not fun. What terrible times, but as you said, I also place great value on what I witnessed. Its part of who I am and made me value lives and other people much more. I enjoy your videos and your commentary. Some fireman in the mainlobby survived cause they escaped into the floor below the lobby when they heard the building falling. There even is footage of it because a French cameraman was with them.

I remember the day so vividly. I was in my first grade class, and the phone rang. Our teacher quieted us down and answered it. I saw her smile fall. She covered her hand with her mouth and gasped "what?", then hung up quickly. The fire alarm came on but was only on for a split second before turning to a lockdown drill. The classroom was dark and we were all huddled behind this cubby area. Then the room filled with blue &a red lights. Suddenly there was a pounding on the door. My mom had stormed into the school and demanded me and my brother. She heard right when the first tower was hit on the radio and rushed to our school. Our school was circled by police vans and cars, with guns out. We weren't far from Washington, DC. I remember hanging off my mom, looking at all these grim faced police officers as she took us home. She had gotten there before the cops had or else she wouldn't have gotten in as they weren't letting anyone into the school parking lot.

If you don't mind me asking, why was the police surrounding your school guns drawn?

+Tommy Gilbert I'm not in his perspective but probably because if they were to terrorize anything else on that day it could have possible been the Pres. so therefore they were holding down the places with larger amounts of people to try and keep them safe from any attacks.

I actually first heard about the 11 september when i was in vacation in the usa in 2010 when i was 10 years old. On the anniversary it was shown in american tv and as a german i never heard of it or saw such terrifying things before. All the people in the windows jumping down. It was horrible and awfull but my parents allowed me to watch it. I didnt sleep at all for the whole night and till today I sometimes get bad dreams. I can not imagine how bad it has to be for everyone who actually was involved/in town in 2001.

Imagine the people who go through this daily. For example Syria and Lebanon. Imaginge reliving that terror ever single day. I recently watched a video of a bunch of men digging for a baby's body under a collapsed house in Syria. I felt terrified just from watching it. I live in Egypt and experienced a bomb 3 blocks away. I was sleeping and fell from my bed from the intensity. I really thought the world was ending. I can't imagine living through that again.
