I figured out why a lot of Americans don't like British food. Having tried American food, British food has a lot less salt, fat and corn syrup in it, so it will taste bland to Americans. To the locals, it tastes good. I don't know why so many folk get upset about that kind of comment. He's basing it on a single encounter.
