Casey, I’ve gone through many ups and downs in my life. You have always been there with the right video, somehow, when I needed it. The message of this video, "Doing Hard Things," comes during a time in my life when I needed to remember it. So, here I am, at 240 LBS and 5’8”. Now, I’m motivated to start working towards running a full marathon, and I’m going to begin by working towards it today. Thanks, Casey. Your continued dedication to your passion has been one of the things that have kept me going for 10 years.

Casey! After your video of the Tucson marathon you inspired me to sign up for a marathon and when I did everyone told me how crazy I was, or that I would get hurt, or that there was no way I would be able to finish. But I didn’t want to back down and they didn’t let you get a refund for the race. I started doing the hard things, getting up early, running when it was cold, battling through soreness. In August of this year I ran the marathon! One thing that made the marathon even harder is that one of the signs to tell runners where to turn had blown over, I ended up running an extra 4 miles in the wrong direction before I realized that I was the only runner in sight. Eventually I ran back to where I got off course and continued going. I ended up running a total of 30.6 miles. At mile 26 my body was done and I called my wife and explained what had happened and told her I needed her to come pick me up! But my wife told me that even if I ran the extra miles I needed to cross the finish line to complete my goal! Casey those extra 4 miles were the hardest things Ive ever done in my life but they were so worth it! Thank you for inspiring me to do hard things and to push myself even when everyone told me I couldn’t finish! You’re the man Casey!

OMG we love you you Casey and Candace! We have been through so much the past few years while my family lost everything in a hurricane followed by more hurricanes and we are struggling like crazy with four kids to dig out of the mess we are in but just keep taking 10 steps back. And somehow, when we are feeling really down, there you guys are making us feel better and seeing that someday things might be okay. It's hard going through these things when we have our marital spats and then somehow you and Candace just bring out something in us that we take a break and look at how lucky we are. It's hard to explain but you both just give us hope. We didn't even get an alert of your newest video but it seems like when we really need it, there it is. Candace is so proud of you with that smile and so are we! Thank you so much Candace and Casey!!!
