@@CaseyPutsch No. You should only invite the inexperienced to simple circle tracks or oval tracks
@Gma77882 ай бұрын
Yeah, you noticed there's no lines marked. Great observations. Now you should realise NO LINES MEANS you MUST follow the middle line and OBEY THE TRACK everywhere around this track. This IMPLIES you DO NOT apex drive on this track. If you do those modern style of driving, you'll get these same problems that casey had during his drive. You WILL break your car and or you WILL run off this track and most likely crash. A white line in the middle of the track tells you when to brake and when to accelerate. No lines means you're obeying the track. You become ONE WITH THE ROAD. YOU USE YOUR peripheral vision NOT your focused vision, to drive this track. When this track says "turn", you turn. When this track says "brake", you brake. You don't ignore this track and drive out to the edge so you can cut the corner. NO!! The white lines AREN'T THERE TO SHOW YOU where the edges are located. You have to learn the tasks the track designer has designed for you to do to complete the complex circuit.

That was some of the best footage of a vintage race. I'm about to do my first vintage race with VDCA at Roebling Road next month. I at least get a test day the week before in my car which I've not driven before. I'm pretty sure I'll be hanging out at the back of the race though...for now. Pretty amazing that you could just jump into that car and drive it that well.

The shots in the paddock were really well done too. Hope to see you again and support your work. You really can hear everything and the sound of that gearbox is music to my ears! I sometimes edit videos for Alex and I’ll tell him to get a GoPro 360s next time to capture all the action. Hope to see you at another VSCDA event!

Beautiful track. Gorgeous Lotus. You wasted no time going right to the front, but the lack of curbing seemed to make hitting apexes a bit of a challenge. Great dice with the Alfa. The NSU was an interesting car. Never seen or heard of that car. Cool video, Casey. One of your best.

Amazing. Just a couple years ago 360 cameras weren't horizon-stabilized, so the view would tilt every time there was any side-G in the turns and was nauseating to watch. Also, really nice edits, very natural, like a cameraman and not a computer was controlling the view-also not easy to get right.

NO, casey, LOOK AT THE RACE TRACK. THERE'S NO LINES MARKED. You don't do apex driving on a track with no white lines. You're forced into following the middle line everywhere on this track. Only when it's absolutely obvious that the apex is the best line, do you drive according to apex style driving. But for everywhere else you're NOT ALLOWED to do apex style driving. You need to follow the track designer, and STOP YOURSELF from disrespecting the race track. You actually DO the complex tasks required to complete a lap. If the race track requires you to complete a turn that tightens up as you go around it, then YOU DO THAT TASK. YOU DO NOT disobey doing that job and go from apex to apex! You slowed down at the beginning by going out to the edge. Your tires went cold 🥶 when you required them to stay hot. Humans aren't capable of doing 20,000 tasks while driving apex to apex, perfectly, hour after hour. You need to give yourself room on either side of the car cause YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE MISTAKES whilst completing 500,000 tasks. You follow the middle line on a vintage style track. These no lines tracks don't warn the driver what to do. You have to learn the tasks required to navigate the track and you perform those tasks over and over. You're NOT apex driving. You made thousands of mistakes in doing those types of corners around that track. You were so far out of the zones for the tasks AND where YOUR CAR required you to do those tasks, you almost broke the car and you almost crashed it too. Your car required YOU to brake 20 metres earlier than you were braking. You were disobeying all the tasks you were required to perform on that track. You're at the extreme end of that cars performance ability, by acting too late, it MUST break or crash. You have to stop ✋️ what you're doing, apex driving and start to follow the middle line, religiously, and do everything much earlier and MATCH YOURSELF TO THE TRACK. WHEN THE TRACK YELLS YOU TO TURN that's where you turn. You DON'T DISOBEY THE TRACK and drive out to the outside of the track. !!!!! Where is your fundermentals? You warm up on oval tracks before you get on complex circle tracks.
