I have never had a great Dane, but I know a lot of people that do. And for my experience, they are very friendly dogs. One of my relatives has one. And the thing was huge. The problem is he thinks he was a lap dog.

He is a dog, a very well trained dog, member of a breed not known for violence. That doesn't mean it can't happen. There is no such thing as 100% security. But I think humans are far more dangerous. And we have been proving this every day for thousands of years.

That's why they're not fearful dogs who quickly reach their psychological limits. You also need to have a lot of contact with other dogs. But mostly, Just like with children, we humans are the ones who mess up. Treat dogs like exhibits, aggression amplifiers and status symbols. Our dogs are quite impressive at 45 - 50 kg, but their behavior quickly allayed people's fears.
