I've had Littlejohns ONCE about a decade ago and never forgot it. Amazing! Here's another recommendation for you in CA: Craft by Smoke and Fire in downtown Anaheim, relatively new and a very rare 5 STARS (not 4.5) with 1000+ Yelp reviews! Finally a California place that knows how to cook meats very thoroughly. And yet, the best part of my meal was the BREAD PUDDING! Stunningly good! You may be making a rare shocked face on camera over this delectable dessert!

Awwww the toffee looks delish!! Is the farmers market walking distance to The Grove?
@billandlisa2 жыл бұрын
Yup! Just a walkway separates the two.
@selfself88135 ай бұрын
They both occupy one gigantic piece of property. Sadly, The Grove took many things we loved in the Farmers Market to build the Grove. Some of the property (owned by the Gilmore Company) was sold to a man man named Rick Caruso, who has built several ‘Groves’ in order to avoid paying higher property taxes. However, The Grove has something like a 99-year lease and the Gilmore Co. remains the owner of the property. NOTE: Mr. Caruso ran unsuccessfully for L.A. Mayor. It is thought that he may make another run for it and I, for one, hope he does and wins!!! L.A. and California are desperate for a return to conservative leadership to revive our once great state to the fantastic place it truly is!!!

Great question. If out of the county, the priority is to get back to the States any way possible. Once in the US, we can make our way back to CA. If domestic, make our way to one of our hubs (Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Seattle, Salt Lake City), then connect to LA.

Unagi is my favorite. I'm surprised Lisa didn't roll her eyes when Bill did that backwards 'wow' joke. I want to be a bystander around that pie counter and convince people to get the big pie and not the mini pie. I've eaten at that French Crepe Company about 6 years ago. Is the Barnes and Nobles still there? I'm fascinated how they label the empanadas lol.

Bill why you always cut away as soon as you put the food in your mouth instead of just showing you finish your first bite and giving your thoughts? Sometimes you'll show Lisa chewing and finishing her bite but you seem to cut your own shots short way more often. There's always a transition when you edit your own bites. Not just in this particular vid but generally
@billandlisa2 жыл бұрын
Mainly because we choose not to show us just chewing for several seconds after taking a (large) bite with no dialog. Small bites we tend to not cutaway. In short, we try to keep commentary going. Thanks for asking though, others may wonder the same thing.

One thing that stays constant in L.A. is the OVERPRICING and the ever reduced portions of food in the Farmers Market. It’s a fun place but I cannot begin to tell you how ridiculously ‘taken’ you are getting. I’m a native Angelino who ‘grew up’ in the market. Once upon a time, a very long time ago, you could eat at an OK price at a couple of stalls. But now, if you are a tourist, coming to the Market with a child or more, you can easily get close to $100 or more for food, drink and parking. Free parking only for 1-1/2 hrs. Then it goes into exorbitant ($$$) time! You will spend half that time just ordering, getting your food and a table. It is a unique, great people watching place but a COMPLETE RIP-OFF. I always feel so bad watching the tourists with sticker shock. When out of town visitors pack in the place the day before and the day after a Rose Bowl game, it is absolutely sad to see everyone getting ‘taken’ on everything from soup to nuts, literally! Forewarned is forearmed. Come and look, walk around, maybe get a coffee; but then go elsewhere, to one of L.A.’s many (MANY) wonderful restaurants for a quality meal at a much fairer price!!!
